Edward Chapman was a small time operator who was wrongly convicted of murder and spent twelve and a half years in prison. With a new trial in the offing, Edward is released on parole, while awaiting his trial. But things are not exactly kosher with his new lease on life. He finds he has a son. A Kid Named Joey, is the first of a planned sequence of three overlapping novels. A Lad Named Joey and A Man Called Joseph, being the other two, which are planned.
