Synopsis:

Ten-year-old Matthew is dropped off very early one morning at the Four Corners miniature golf course by his mom and her boyfriend. They told him not to move from that spot and they would be back for him later. That afternoon, the Covers stopped by to play a game of miniature golf. As they waited their turn, Mr. Ken learned a boy had been there all day and had only left the bench to use the bathroom and that he hadn’t eaten anything all day. The owner of the miniature golf course went over to talk to the young boy, but was told by the boy he wasn’t supposed to talk to strangers. Mr. Ken asked Dan Fischer to show the boy his badge and get some information from the youngster. While the Sheriff’s Lieutenant and the young boy talked, Mr. Ken had Robert get the boy a hot dog and soda, which the boy ate down quickly. It was after the boy bumped over his soda that Mr. Dan tried to console the boy by patting him on his back. When the boy winced from that touch the lieutenant knew there was something terribly wrong. Follow along as Matthew’s story unfolds and learn how the youngster becomes a Cover himself.
