A medical student and his mentor/lover, an Army Ranger/surgeon are transported from a medical center on Earth to World where they learn about magic, are captured by and then become allies of a community of warrior clerics and then a kingdom of dwarves, and become leaders in the battle to free the human principality of Arcadia and the Kingdom of Elvenhold from evil rulers.
