Peter Day, a young Gay Man takes his nephew, Chris, and Chris' boy friend north into the wilds of Canada as the governments of the world collapse. They discover a strange collection of buildings that, apparently had been intended as a 'bug out' shelter. It was not occupied and they appropriated it for themselves. They struggle to survive the vengeful winter weather and they begin to thrive. They are joined by others, including a partner for Peter. More boys and a few girls trickle in until they have a whole community. They will be joined by the local Native Americans in restoring Canada and they help the struggling Americans to the south to throw off the slavers and greedy men who pretend to be a religious order. Peter and his companions will form a new government in Canada and, along with the three new American countries that replaced the United States, will bring civilization back from the brink of destruction.
