Starting high school can be a trying experience for many teens. It's even worse if they start in one school and have to transfer to another many miles away where they don't know anyone. Dane Johnson, 14, finds himself in that situation when his mother and he move from the Chicago suburbs to a small town in Iowa to live with his paternal grandmother. They have to hole-in for financial reasons brought about by his father's military deployment in the Middle East. For better or worse, their relocation will be a life-changer for Dane.
