From the Previous Chapter:

When the Estate Master stopped in Matthew’s room, it was he who asked if they could do the movie up at the Pavilion. He argued that they did it two times before, and this might be the last time that the weather might be good enough for them to do it.

With Mr. Wayne, playing devil’s advocate, asked the pre-teen which movie they would show. Matthew beamed at the question and recommended that they’d show one off the list they didn’t show when the twins were there, if ‘dad’ hadn’t gotten any new ones. That answer put a smile on the man’s face.

Ken Thomas woke with a big smile on his face that Thursday morning. He was back east with the woman he wanted to marry, and they were making headway in determining who Rusty’s father was. After taking care of his morning needs, Ken went down to the hotel’s breakfast buffet and had some coffee along with a couple of waffles with warm syrup.

After the man ate his breakfast, he waited until he knew Amy Ozarker was at her office, and then he called her. When the lawyer answered, Ken told Amy that Kate would have Rusty there at around 3:30 to do the DNA tests, so she needed to have four tests all set for when they arrived.

Mr. Ken then called Arnie Arnolds out at Crystal Lake to see if he was available to show him around the new construction site, and explain how everything was coming along. Arnie was happy that the park’s owner would be able to stop by. They agreed to meet at the operations building at ten o’clock.

Back at the school, Phillip and his bandmates were still trying to come up with a catchy name for their band. They had already rejected over thirty names including many, but not all, that included the word garage, Pavilion, voices, estate, boys, band and elementary.

“OK, here is what we kept,” started Bryce, “Primarily Boys, Essentially Boys, Point of Departure, Deep Seated, Junior Grade, Estate Voice, Estate Boys, Pavilion Boys, Seven Friends, Boys of the Lake, Pavilion Sunrise, Pavilion Sunset, or just plain Pavilion.”

During their lunch break, the seven boys listened to the names, again, as Bryce read them off. They talked about the remaining names, and as they did, they eliminated a few more, but the list still had a good number on it. What remained were the band names they all liked including,

Point of Departure, Pavilion, Adolescent, Straightforward and Period of Transition.

The band members kicked the names around some more and then Phillip told everyone to think about the names and maybe come up with a few more. The young Cover reasoned that when they got together that weekend for the sleepover, they could discuss it again, but they needed to pick a name pretty quick. All the boys agreed.

At Crystal Lake Ken Thomas, Arnie Arnolds and the new operations trainee, Darrell Griffin, rode the golf cart over to where the new water park was being constructed. Mr. Ken could already see where the wave pool, and lazy river were going to go, by the grading already accomplished by the contractor.

Arnie asked the park’s owner if he knew whether the lake’s governing Board was going to allow them to draw the water from the lake for the water park, and at the end of the season return it back to the lake cleaner than when they first withdrew it.

Mr. Ken told the Crystal Lake’s operations manager that the Board was supposed to have their final vote about that very topic at their October meeting. He told Arnie and Darrell that Amy Ozarker, the local lawyer he has been using, had been following that issue and has kept him abreast of the Board’s meetings about their application to withdraw the lake’s water, and has told him they have taken public comments at their meetings.

The park’s owner told the men that when he was in the area last, he had met with a few of the Board members privately to give them a chance to ask him questions directly, since he was never at any of the meetings. Mr. Ken added that he felt their chances were good that they would receive a permit to withdraw the water, but that if there is enough public input against it then they could very well have to resubmit after the first of the year.

Darrell asked if the lake’s water was their only supply. Arnie told the new operations trainee that they would have a city water supply available, but what they wanted to do was not over-tax that supply by using the lake’s water. Mr. Ken explained that eventually he would be building homes along the lake shore, as he also owned most of the surrounding area and was interested in creating a new community there and they would need the water pressure.

Checking the time, Mr. Ken told the men he had a three o’clock appointment he had to make, so the three men hurried back to the operations building. The park’s owner told Arnie that Ben, his President of Three Finger Entertainment, would be out that way in either October, or November, and for him to have his questions ready for him. Ken then headed over to Ms. Ozarker’s office to meet with Kate and Rusty.

Although he wasn’t supposed to meet up with Kate and Rusty until three thirty, Ken wanted to talk with Amy about the lake’s water permit, and any issues with sellers of the remaining properties he bought along the highway to the amusement park, who now wanted to renegotiate the sales price.

Amy Ozarker reviewed the lake Board’s meetings with Mr. Ken, and expressed her opinion that the Board will approve the permit barring any last-minute petitions against it. She stated that the Board and the public know that, although he wasn’t paying for the water, as the everyday citizens do, that it does cost a considerable amount of money to filter and treat the lake’s water in order so it meets potable water standards.

As for the remaining property sellers that still have to go to settlement along the highway leading to Crystal Lake, Amy told Mr. Thomas that there were a few in the beginning that balked. The lawyer described how a few sellers felt that they had been deceived about the timeframe of the building of the new highway, and had been taken advantage of.

Amy smiled as she told her employer how she clarified with them that the highway that they spoke of wasn’t going to be built by the old Commissioner’s Court, which was why they decided to sell when they did. But the lawyer illuminated to them that the new Commissioner’s Court had renegotiated with the Department of Transportation to go ahead, and not only build the highway, but with changes that provided a two-lane access road that parallels the new limited access highway, and now passes by the properties they sold.

Mr. Ken saw the merriment in Amy’s eyes, as she described how the sellers shot themselves in their foot by selling quickly, and not waiting to see what would happen after the election. The man was happy they wouldn’t have to litigate to force the sellers to abide by the contract they signed.

Kate arrived right at 3:30, and to Ken’s surprise she had both boys with her. She explained that Jessy needed to know what was going on, and by seeing, he could better understand the why. Ken said he agreed with her, and the four of them joined Amy in one of the office conference rooms.

“Rusty … we’re going to take DNA samples from the inside of one of your cheeks, just as we did the last time for the test to see if Lane was your father. This time … this time we are going to do it four times,” clarified the lawyer.

“Four times? Do I have four dads?” quickly asked Rusty.

Amy looked to both Kate and Ken to see if she should answer, or did one of them want to take the question. Kate decided to answer her son.

“No Rusty … everyone only has one dad and one mom. But you see … the night I thought Lane and I had made you, Lane … he played a trick on me. That is why he is not your father. I’m not going to go into detail, as to what Lane did, but … but I am trying to see if I can make sure I find who your father actually is.

“Amy here … she has had her investigators going out, getting DNA samples from the four men who were Lane’s best friends at the time. And now … we are going to send their sample along with one from your cheek to the same company that did the test on you and Lane, and hopefully in three weeks we’ll get a match.

“Rusty … I say hopefully that we’ll get a match, and then when we do, we’ll know which one is your dad. There is a slight chance that the sample the investigator obtained is not good enough and we might have to do this again. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed. OK? Any questions?” finished the boy’s mother.

Jessy asked if it would hurt his brother. Kate smiled and said that it wouldn’t, and after they finished, they would take a DNA sample from his cheek, so he knew what they did to Rusty. That made the younger boy smile knowing he’d get to know what it was like too.

Amy went ahead and put on the sterile rubber gloves in order to obtain the first DNA sample from the inside of Rusty’s cheek. When she had it, she placed it in the special receptacle, sealed it and placed it in the envelope with one of the four men’s DNA samples. She did the same procedure with clean surgical gloves three more times, sealing the envelope after each DNA sample.

Then it was Jessy’s turn to feel what it was like to have a DNA sample taken from his cheek. Amy dawned clean surgical gloves and then had the younger boy open his mouth and when he did, she swabbed the inside of his cheek. Amy then placed the sample in the special receptacle and asked if Kate wanted to do another test between the boys and or her. Amy told the woman that she had bought extra tests in case she messed one up.

When the boys heard that they could do a DNA test between them, and their mom, they both said at the same time, “Come on mom let’s do it!”

Kate wasn’t too sure that she wanted to do that. But the boys continued to beg their mother to do it. Even Jessy told her that he’d already had his cheek sample done, and all she and Rusty needed to do was give up theirs.

Ken smiled that the boys were so adamant about doing the DNA test. So, he told his girlfriend that it wouldn’t hurt and, afterwards, they could all go out to dinner.

Hearing that they would go out to dinner, which the boys had hoped they would do, they started up again saying, “Come on mom let’s do it.” Then they added, “Then we can go out to dinner with Mr. Ken. Come on mom!”

Kate finally gave in to her sons begging, and so her and Rusty gave up their cheek samples. Amy added them to the extra test kit she had and then sealed it. The lawyer told everyone that she would send off all of the test kits that evening, and would call Kate when the results were returned in about three weeks.

Ken, Kate and the boys went to the buffet that the boys liked. There the boys were able to get their favorites, which were mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. But Kate made them each take a green vegetable to eat. Ken sat at the table with the boys, while Kate went to get her plate of food, and then the two switched off.

While they ate, the boys asked about the puppies and were a bit dismayed that they were all given away to good homes. Mr. Ken did remind them that he kept one for The Cove, and that when they came to visit, they would be able to play with Sarge.

The boys laughed at the puppy’s name not knowing why they named it that. So, Mr. Ken tried to explain to them why they gave the new resident pet that moniker. Rusty sort of understood the reason for the name, but Jessy was still a bit too young to grasp the differences between the rank structure.

As the boys continued to eat, they asked their mom when they were going to visit their big brothers again. Kate looked to Ken, as if he had put that question in their mouths. When she didn’t answer them, the boys persisted in asking when they were going to visit their big brothers, and see their new puppy.

When their mom still didn’t answer them, Jessy went to a higher authority. “Mr. Ken …when can we visit our big brothers, and see their new puppy?”

Ken looked to Kate, who knew she needed to respond to her sons. “Boys … we’re just going to have to wait and see. Maybe in a few weeks we can go there for a few days. But I am making no promises. If you are both good, I’ll talk to Mr. Ken about us going. OK?”

Both boys quickly got off their chairs and hugged the mom and thanked her and told her that they’ll be good. Kate hugged them back, as she looked at Ken and mouthed, “I’ll let you know.”

When the four had finished dinner, and even though the buffet had ice cream as part of their dessert menu, the boys asked if they could go out to that place where they had gotten those big ice cream cones once before. Ken smiled and said, “Sure!”

As they walked to the ice cream store, hand-in-hand, Kate told Ken, “You know you’re spoiling them, don’t you.”

Ken looked back to his girlfriend with a smile and said, “Not any more than they need.”

Kate smiled back at him, and then punched him on the arm. The two then continued to hold hands, as the four walked to the ice cream store.

It was after 7:30 when Kate and the boys returned home, with Ken following right behind them. Edith was happy that the four of them had gone out to dinner, as it continued to show her that Ken Thomas was the right man for her daughter, and would not only take good care of Kate, but would also take good care of her sons, too.

After putting her sons to bed, as they did have school in the morning, Kate and Ken sat out on the front porch and talked about the day, and how happy the boys were in seeing him.

Kate, after a moment’s hesitation, then asked Ken how he thought she should proceed when she learns who Rusty’s father is.

Ken thought about the question for a few moments, and then suggested that there were two possible ways to proceed. The first, he began, was that if the man was local, she could make arrangements to meet with him, and explain everything beginning with what Lane had done that night over nine years ago.

The second way he told Kate was that if the man is one of the two men who live out of the area, she could try to find out when they might be back in town. Then barring that they won’t be back in town, anytime soon, she could go to where they live, and try to meet up with them and explain why she was there.

Kate thought about the two ways Ken had mentioned, and then she took his hand and then looked into his eyes and asked, “Would you … would you be there when I … when I have to talk to him … the man, I mean, that is Rusty’s father?”

Ken was inwardly hoping that he would be invited. But he didn’t want his answer to look like he was too eager to be there. So, he told Kate that if that was what she wanted, then he would move his schedule around in order to be there. His one caveat was that if it was around his Holiday Parties, then he would have a difficult time accommodating her, as many influential local and state political people would be there, and he had to be in attendance.

Kate said that she understood his commitments, but had hoped that in three weeks, which would be the middle of October, she hoped to know who that man was and then they could make plans.

Ken told her that too much longer after that he has two weekend commitments in November that he can’t get out of. He then mentioned there was also Thanksgiving week, which he hoped that she, her mom and the boys would come to Texas to be with him, and his ‘boys’.

Kate said that she wanted to wait and see what happened with this DNA test, and who was Rusty’s father, before she made any promises that far out. Ken expressed his support for her wanting to learn more about Rusty’s father, before she committed herself to something that she might have to cancel.

The two stayed silent for a few moments, sitting there in their own thoughts. Then they looked at one another and then they hugged and kissed. The discussion was over, and the two just shared being together, holding one another and just cuddling.

Friday morning, after he was ready for the day, the first phone call Ken Thomas made was to Amy Ozarker. He asked her if she had time for him, as he had a few things on his mind about Lane, and his four friends, and he wanted to stop by and get her take on them. The lawyer was curious and told him to hurry over.

Once they were seated in Amy Ozarker’s private office, the lawyer asked her benefactor to tell her what had caused him to be thinking about Lane.

“Amy … Lane … he had all that money hidden in his mom’s house. And, since he was in prison, the question on my mind was how in the hell could he amass all that cash? So … well, I got to thinking. If that scumbag was blackmailing Kate … I wondered if he was also extorting money … if he was squeezing money from his four friends, too.

“Now, here’s my thinking. Lane … he tells his buddies, after Rusty is born about the video that he made of them all raping Kate. He sends each of them a snapshot from the video of them doing the dirty deed. And then … and then he tells them if they don’t send him cash … he’ll send the pictures to the DA, and they’ll have a lot of explaining to do.”

Ken Thomas then asked Amy what she thought of his thinking.

The lawyer sat there for a few moments before she answered him. “Ken … you make a pretty good argument. But where … how did he amass all that cash? And how come the banks never knew of it?” asked Amy.

“Well, I thought of that, too. I think when Lane contacted the four men … he told them to only send him cash. I did the math. If each of the men sent him only $100.00 a month, let’s say for nine years; that’s four men times 12 months times nine years which comes to a little over $43,000.00. And the rest of the $50,000.00 could be his profits from his drug dealings.

“Remember … the detectives … they only found fifty- and one-hundred-dollar bills. Right? Now … what I am going to ask you to do, that is if you are willing, is to befriend Evelyn Blankenhart. And in doing so, I want you to try and find out if Lane … if he had been, and still is, receiving mail from those four men. Then, if you can, since he is back in jail, … maybe you can get a look inside any of those letters. If you can, we … we would then know where Lane is getting his largess, and … and with that it could also get him more years behind bars.

“Evelyn would not want to hear that,” quickly opined Amy, “but … but it might also settle her soul to know what her son was up to behind her back, while he was in prison. And … and it might also help her realize that her son will never be any better than what he is now,” offered the lawyer.

The two talked for a little while longer about what Ken Thomas had thought about how Lane had gotten all of that money he had hidden in his mother’s home. They discussed the pros and cons of what Amy would have to do and, in the end, Ken Thomas told his lawyer that it was totally up to her if she would go through with it.

Then Ken Thomas hit the lawyer with another interesting thought.

“Amy … that fifty thousand dollars … the detectives confiscated at Evelyn’s home. What say you file a petition against that sum, as child support for Jessy. Since the detectives believe it was Lane’s and Jessy is Lane’s son, and the judge awarded Kate child support for Jessy then you should be able to claim, let’s say, at least, $500.00 per month, and maybe more, times six plus years for Kate,” reasoned Ken.

The two discussed what Ken just suggested and Amy agreed to look into doing that. She clarified herself to Ken Thomas predicting she wouldn’t have much success, as she felt the authorities would claim it was all drug related, and have it all forfeited into their general police account.

Mr. Ken argued that if she petitioned the courts quick enough, before the police filed for forfeiture of the funds, she might be able to convince the judge to award Kate at least $24,000.00 of it, and maybe more, as what Lane Blankenhart owed up until that time.

Amy thought about that for a few moments, and then said, “If that is the case, then I could also petition the court to award Evelyn the remaining amount. If Lane’s mother … if she was paying all of her son’s lawyer’s fees, and also sent him money, while he was in prison to make his stay there easier for him, then that could be what I could use to convince Evelyn to let me see those letters, if there are any.

“Then, if there are letters from those four men, I would petition the court to award the remaining amount back to Evelyn to reimburse her, since her son had the money to defend himself, but had deceived his mother into paying those bills for him, then that money deserved to be hers, in a way,” finished Amy Ozarker.

Before he left the office, Mr. Ken and Amy Ozarker discussed both issues. They agreed that it would serve Lane right that his mother finally knew what her son was up to all those years, and what was in all those letters from those men. Amy also reasoned that she could also end the extortion of those four men for the rest of their lives, once Evelyn agrees to go along with petitioning the court for the remaining monies.

Ken Thomas, as he was leaving the office, thought of one more thing he wanted to know.

“Amy … your investigator … I’m sure he is very good. What I would like to know is … has he created a file on each of the four men, as to what they do for a living, how much do they make, what’s their level of education, are they married, how many kids do they have, what kinds of entertainment do they enjoy and more.

“The reason I ask is … well, when the DNA tests come back, Kate … she will need to know as much about Rusty’s father as she can get, before she goes to meet with him to let him know that he is Rusty’s father. I think she will probably ask you these same questions,” offered Ken Thomas.

Amy Ozarker smiled and admitted that she does have a vast amount of information on the four men. She qualified her answers by confessing that they were not equal in any of those parameters that he mentioned. The lawyer revealed that only two of them graduated from college, and that one of them basically lives paycheck to paycheck.

Ken thanked Amy for telling him that, and he hoped that Rusty’s father is not one of the deadbeat ones. He then wished Amy good luck in handling everything she was doing for him, and asked her to try to keep him in the loop with what she was doing.

Ken Thomas then mentioned the upcoming Water Board meeting and for her to let him and Arnie know what their decision was. With all that said and done, Ken Thomas left the office, and was promptly on his way to the airport for his ride back home.

When the limousine carrying owner of The Cove drove through the Main Gate of The Cove, that Friday evening, Ken Thoms was surprised to see the movie screen was set up at the Pavilion. The limo drove down to the front entrance, where the owner of The Cove got out, and the limo driver retrieved his bags and set them aside.

The boys saw the hired car drive down to the house, and they decided to go and greet their ‘dad’ upon his return. So, they all climbed into the golf carts and raced down to the front door. Wayne and Dennis were among the welcoming committee.

“Welcome home, dad,” barked Robert, as he hugged his dad, with the other boys joining in a group hug.

“I see you’re doing a movie up at the Pavilion tonight,” offered ‘dad’ Ken.

“Yea,” began Matthew, “We figured this would be the last time we would have good weather in order for us to do this, and it was fun when we did it for the twins.”

“Woof,” called out Chief, with Sarge beside her calling out his own, “Yipp, yipp.”

Mr. Ken looked down to the two resident pets, and got down and scratched behind Chief’s ears, and then picked up Sarge to hold him and snuggle the young puppy.

“Sarge, you’re putting on weight,” chuckled Mr. Ken. Your master sure must be feeding you well. Matthew then reached up to take his charge from his ‘dad’, who readily handed the young pup to the pre-teen.

Billy carried the man’s bags inside the house, as ‘dad’ Ken told his ‘sons’ to get back up to the Pavilion, with their friends. He added that he’d be right up there, once he has a chance to get caught up on his mail, and he takes time to talk to Mr. Wayne and Mr. Dennis.

The three men walked into the Study, and Mr. Ken went and sat behind his desk, where he took a cursory glance at his mail. When he saw there wasn’t anything pressing, he looked over to Dennis and told him that he has something for him.

Dennis Faulkner was surprised at hearing his boss had something for him, so now he was interested in what it could be. He watched as the man reached into his desk, and brought out what looked like a large coin.

“Dennis … I should have given you this once you became a permanent member of the staff, but … well, with everything that was going on, it completely slipped my mind. And, it was only when Phillip became more like a permanent Cover that … well, that I decided to give him one, and it came apparent that I should have, long ago, given you one, too.

“So, Dennis … here is a special coin (As Mr. Ken passes the special coin over to the man.) that all of us have, and now you have, as well. Dennis this coin … as you can see … it looks like a special keepsake Commemorative Coin, with the outline of the state of Texas on one side, and the Texas State flag on the other. However, Dennis … it is much more than that.

“You see … I wanted to create a simple device that parents … that parents could give their kids, so that if they ever needed to find them, if they went missing, they could easily find them with the help of the authorities. So, I had my electronics company develop this oversized silver dollar type coin that when squeezed, between the thumb and forefinger, will cause a reaction that creates a battery that will begin to send out a signal, which will be picked up by overhead satellites.

“All of the boys and their friends, with the exceptions of Phillip’s, because I haven’t had the time to talk to their parents about the coins yet, have them, and the coins have been successfully used five times,” explained the man’s employer.

Hearing the coins have been used five times knocked Dennis’ socks off. So, the Assistant Estate Master asked to hear more about the when, the who, the how and the where the coins had been used.

Wayne sat there smiling knowing that Dennis was about to be amazed, when he heard what Ken Thomas was about to tell him.

“Dennis … this information is for our use only, so please, please don’t go out and spread around what I am about to tell you.

“To start, remember … when we were visiting the parks last summer and we got phone calls that Charles’ friends were attacked in The Mall’s Food Court’s restroom? Well, the boys who were attacked, Richard Longger and David Fritzer … they both used their coins, which got the Sheriff’s Deputies there quickly enough to minimize their injuries, even though Richard had been stabbed before they got there.

“Going further back … Matthew … when he was taken by his biological father back to Colorado to live with him last year before Christmas … he used his coin when his dad … when his dad beat him severely, because he learned could never get a hold of his Trust Fund.

“When the boy squeezed his coin, the signal went up to the satellite, it was received at Diamond Security, who in turn called me. When I verified it was Matthew’s coin, it set some events in motion, which ultimately brought the pre-teen back to us.

“Billy … he didn’t use his coin, but Mark … he used it for him. Billy … he was beaten so ruthlessly that he didn’t have the strength to do it, so he had Mark get the coin and squeeze it for him, and then go back into hiding, until I came to find him.

“Matthew, again … he was the first person to use his coin, when his mother … his mother mind you, tried to kidnap him from Doctor Doug’s office building. The boy went to use the restroom, after his appointment was over, and somehow, she had learned where he was. She then took him to a woman’s restroom closet.

“The boy told us that he didn’t squeeze his coin right away, but when she told him she was going to kill him, when they got back to living together, and she had begun to squeeze his balls he decided it was time. And with that signal, I was able to direct Wayne, and the sheriff’s Deputies, who were also looking for him, to where he was.

“The only Sheriff’s Deputy who knows about the coins is Dan, Lt. Fischer. I have since given the coins to Jules Diamond of Diamond Security Services for him to use with his important clients, and all his people know is to contact the Sheriff’s office, and direct them to the location that comes up indicating where the coin is.

“So, Dennis … the coin … it is for you to use if you ever find yourself in a situation where you are in an accident, and can’t get to your cell phone, or are in danger, and the bad guys have taken you hostage, and thrown your cell phone away. I think you’ll know when to squeeze the coin. And one thing we don’t do, with the coin, is make it too visible, noticeable, or obvious, that calls attention to it. Did I shock you any?” smiled Ken Thomas.

“Wow! Mr. Ken … what can I say. I’d seen the boys handle a large coin that looked like a silver dollar, but I didn’t pay any more attention to it. But now… now that you tell me that you had this … this unique security device created and it … that it works!

“Can I ask … are you further developing this device to make them smaller, so you can place them in belt buckles, shoes, wallets and other things that kidnappers, or other bad guys, wouldn’t consider taking away from their hostage or prisoner?” asked Dennis.

Mr. Ken smiled at the question. “Yes, Dennis, my electronics company … they are doing that as we speak. The coins have only been in use for about two years now, and the second rendition is in the works, and I’m hoping the prototype will be available to us to test before Christmas,” finished Mr. Ken.

“Boss, I want to thank you for this special commemorative coin. I know what it represents, and I want you to know that I will take good care of it. I also want to thank you for giving me more of the back-story of what has happened here at The Cove. This is a very unique place, and if I hadn’t been a part of it, I would never have known what goes on behind those high walls.

“Sure, some of it is in the news archives, but there is so much more. Maybe, someday, one of the boys … they will write a History of Three Finger Cove and reveal the truths, the legends and tell all the stories, with all the happenings that make this estate such a curiosity to many people,” continued Dennis.

Mr. Ken and Wayne smiled at what Dennis had to say. Wayne then looked at his watch and announced to the other two men that he better get up to the Pavilion, and start the movie before the boys start to mutiny. Dennis stood up and thanked Mr. Ken again for the coin, and then he told Wayne to wait for him. Mr. Ken then told the men that he’d be up there shortly.

As the two men left the Study, Ken Thomas sat back and recounted what Dennis had said about someone, one day, writing a history of what happened at The Cove. He smiled at what the reader would learn, maybe fifty years from now, from examining the events, goings-on, activities and incidents at The Cove. He also thought back to everything that did go on there at Three Finger Cove, from the time he first began building it up until now.

The owner of The Cove got so engrossed at his reminiscing, that time got away from him and that his cell phone ringing, brought him out of his focus. The phone call was from one of his sons wanting to know where he was. Mr. Ken told them to send a golf cart for him, and he’d be right up.
