From the Previous Chapter:
Ken Thomas made his way back to his own retreat and relished sleeping in his own bed for a change, too. The man got ready for bed and as he sat on the edge of his bed, before turning out the lights, he wondered to himself if what Matthew told him tonight was all they ever needed to do to get the boy’s mother to relinquish her parental rights.
The man hoped and prayed that is all that it is going to take. He turned off the lights and it didn’t take long for his body to relax and for him to fall asleep, he was so tired.
All of the Covers slept well that night. Even Matthew managed a good night’s sleep knowing that he’s done everything he could to help get his mom to give him up for adoption. The Cove was peaceful and quiet the whole night through.
Without realizing it, his alarm clock went off at its pre-set weekday time that Friday morning. Ken Thomas thought to himself that he sure would have loved to have slept in for at least another hour or so, but he knew the alarm meant that the boys would be expecting to see him in the Kitchen Nook reading his morning newspaper and drinking his coffee. So, the man reluctantly got out of bed and did his morning routine before getting dressed and heading out to the Nook.
Upon entering the Kitchen Nook, Momma Maria had a great big smile for him and she told him to sit. She immediately brought over to him his favorite coffee cup and then filled it with the hot brew he loved the first thing in the morning. The man took his first sip, then lifted it in salute to the woman, who smiled back at him.
“Its iss goods to sees youse backs heres Misters Kens,” spoke Momma Maria. “I’ms sures these boys are happys toos.”
“Momma, yes, it is good to be back home, and yes, the boys are very happy that I am home. And remember, Kate and her family will be arriving later tonight. I expect them here about 6:30, so we might want to hold dinner until they arrive. OK?” answered Mr. Ken.
Momma thanked him for the reminder and told him that it would be no problem, and then she went right back to getting the boys breakfast ready to cook when they appeared in the Nook in a few minutes.
Mr. Ken then focused on the morning newspaper in the protective sleeve lying there on the table. He picked it up and did what he normally did to it before taking Section A, World News, and began reading.
The clicking of the dog’s paws on the ceramic tiles gave them away and ‘dad’ Ken knew that the first three boys would be entering the Kitchen Nook very shortly. And as they did, they all said good morning to him and Momma Maria and even Matthew went over to him and gave him a hug before heading over to fix Sarge his morning meal.
The three boys were very animated in their conversation that morning, talking about the coming Thanksgiving Holiday week off from school and what they were going to do. There was no discussion about last night’s meeting of Matthew and him, for which he was grateful.
As the boys ate, ‘dad’ Ken asked them if they got the chance to try on their suits that week. Matthew was the only one who had a suit and he told him that he hadn’t. He added that it wasn’t on his mind and that Mr. Wayne never mentioned it to them. ‘Dad’ Ken asked him to try it on when he came home from school. The almost-teenager said that he would.
After the boys left to catch their school bus, Sarge came over to Mr. Ken and he sat there next to the man with what looked like a big smile on his muzzle.
“You’re happy your master is back to being himself, are we?” teased the man.
“Woof, woof, woof,” answered Sarge, who then put his paws on the man’s lap and wanting to give him some doggie kisses, which the man accepted.
“Thank you, Sarge. Matthew is lucky to have you as his companion,” offered Mr. Ken.
The three teenaged Cover boys weren’t too far behind the three younger Cover boys leaving for school, as they came down as a group for breakfast. They each said good morning to their ‘dad’ and Momma Maria before sitting down for their breakfast.
And as they sat, Momma watched to see if all three boys would pet Chief and Sarge. There had been a little competition between Bill and Charles, as to which dog would prefer them leaving Robert out, since that teen never bothered to pet them every morning. She was wondering if Robert would that day. The teen did and as soon as all three were finished she shooed them off to wash their hands.
Mr. Ken wondered what that was all about and Momma told him what was happening each morning, since he left. She told him that it was comical that Robert ignored the two resident pets after Bill and Charles had said that Chief and Sarge would prefer them over him. That was until this morning when he did pet them, because he never bothered to pet them every morning. Hearing that made ‘dad’ Ken smile that the teens had a little playfulness going on between them.
As the teenagers ate, they too, talked about what they had planned for the Holiday week ahead of them. Charles mentioned that he hoped that his dad would take them to SeaWorld that week since Rusty and Jessy were there. He said it would be nice to watch the two younger boys there again looking at the sea life.
Robert spoke up and told his ‘brothers’, that Mr. Wayne talked to him last night about his possibly taking the driver’s test that week sometime. The teen added that the Estate Master wanted to know if he’d been studying the DMV handbook, but Robert honestly said that he’d been watching the videos to get them out of the way.
Billy told his ‘brother’ that the test wasn’t as easy as 1-2-3 and he really needed to get into studying the handbook before he takes the driver’s test to get this learner’s permit. The older teen also told him to make sure he knows where his social security card is because he’ll need that too, and he had to make sure he had checked off a few other things before he went, too.
‘Dad’ Ken liked that the teens were sharing information between them. He felt it was one of the good things of having a big ‘family’ that the older ones have the experience they can pass on down. The only down-side was that the first child had to experience it without the benefit of someone giving them the 411.
After the teenagers left for their school, Mr. Ken sat there trying to decide if he wanted to go into the office, or stay at home. By then Chris had arrived and the two began to chat about the three-day trip and the IAAPA Expo.
Mr. Ken told Chris that both were exciting in their own right. He explained that seeing Phillip light up and enjoy himself without his ‘brothers’ there was a joy in itself. And when it came to the Expo, Ken Thomas told Chris Dominions that he was hooked on it for the foreseeable future.
Mr. Ken continued and wondered why he hadn’t been going there in the past, because what he saw there gave him so many possibilities of what he could do for his amusement parks going forward.
He gave Chris an example of them creating a mascot for the entire Three Finger Entertainment group of amusement parks. He also told Chris about how he and Ben would be talking to all of the major ride manufacturers after the Holidays. Chris could tell that Ken Thomas was ecstatic over his trip and that he needed to pencil it in on next year’s calendar.
Mr. Ken decided to go into the office after all. He gathered up all of the brochures and business cards he had accumulated and put them into his briefcase and then told Chris and Momma where he was headed. Chris asked where Wayne was and was told that the man needed to decompress after being with the boys for way too many days. The man and woman chuckled after hearing that explanation.
At the office, Rosemary was surprised to see her boss come in and immediately told him that she’d have a fresh pot of coffee ready real soon. Mr. Ken then handed her all of the brochures and business cards and asked her to enter them into a database of contacts for him and then return everything to him when she was finished. He then told her that he had an important phone call to make to his lawyer, and for her not to disturb him unless the building was on fire.
“Bill … Ken here … I hope you have a few minutes,” began Ken Thomas.
With that opening, Mr. Ken then described to his lawyer, Bill Jackson, what Matthew had relayed to him late last night about what was said to him by his mother when she had tried to kidnap him from Doctor Doug Jennings’ office building right after he began living at The Cove.
Bill Jackson honestly told Mr. Ken that he had never even thought to contact the arresting Sheriff Deputies, let alone look at their arrest reports from that day when they took Grace Turnsten in for attempted kidnapping, and a slew of other charges.
The lawyer told his client that this could very well be what they needed to get the courts to hold an involuntary termination of parental rights hearing. Bill Jackson indicated that he’d get his staff working on gathering the arrest reports, and then he’d contact the arresting deputies. He did add, though, that with the Thanksgiving Holiday this would slow the process some.
Ken Thomas told Bill to work at it as he saw best, as Grace wasn’t getting out of prison anytime soon. But it he could get the opportunity to adopt Matthew sometime after the major Christmas Holidays it would be the best Christmas present, he could ever give that boy.
Bill told him he didn’t think that the courts would work that fast in this instant. The lawyer did indicate, though, that maybe an Easter Basket gift could be in the offing if he finds everything that he needs in those arrest reports and he gets the arresting deputies to corroborate everything Matthew told him last night.
Mr. Ken thanked Bill for his time and to do his best on this. He then asked if there was any movement on any of the lawsuits. Bill told him that he thinks the radio stations might want to sit down and negotiate a settlement, as they don’t have as big a pocket to pull from as the television stations do. The lawyer told his client, Ken Thomas, to cross his fingers that they do, as this would put more pressure on the TV stations to come to the table, as well.
When Mr. Ken got off the phone with his lawyer, he called Kate to see where she and her family were in regards to getting to the air charter flight he had arranged for them. Kate was surprised that he called, as she had only short calls with him from over the last week.
Ken reminded her why his calls to her were so short, but sweet, and that was because of his trip with Phillip and then his trip to Florida with Ben and Arnie. Kate was in such a hurry to get everything together that she was just not focused right then.
But the two did have a quick talk about the upcoming flight and that Kate, Edith and the boys would be getting on the plane in about two hours their time. Before they ended the call, Ken told his girlfriend to just relax on the flight as everything is taken care of from then on. Kate laughed and the two sent hugs and kisses over the phone before hanging up.
Ken then realized that they would arrive at the Austin-Bergstrom Airport around three o’clock his time and they should be at The Cove close to four-thirty. He now needed to tell Momma their new arrival time.
When Dennis arrived at The Cove, Wayne still hadn’t shown up. Chris told him that Wayne was still recovering from being with the boys for so long. That made Dennis laugh.
Chris then gave Dennis a note asking him to go and pick up Phillip’s rental for the wedding reception. Chris told the Assistant Estate Master that he’d been calling all of the band member’s parents asking them if they’d remembered to pick up their son’s rental yet, too. More laughing from the two men.
Because of the wedding and reception, The Cove was taking on a new look. The company decorating for the wedding had strung wide white ribbon between the light poles up at the Cove Skate Park, as well as they had attached multiple white bells on the poles and at the Pavilion.
They had also brought a Classic Graeco-Roman Style Colonnade Arch to be used out on the Patio during the wedding ceremony itself, along with flower stands and other accompaniments that they had already started to decorate out on the Patio.
With that, they brought along at least fifty white chairs, to set up on the Patio for guests who arrived to attend the wedding itself. There was also a dedicated Gift Table set up there, as well as a Gift Table positioned up at the Pavilion.
The caterer had brought over cases of drinks that The Cove uses in their Free-Vend soda machines, so that the ones in the machines would already be cold for the guests and as soon as the levels got low, they would top off the machines with what they brought.
The caterer also brought over extra tables and chairs for the guests to sit at if they didn’t want to use the Pavilion’s tables and benches. They also brought over a special table for the wedding cake as well as a bar for the bartender to server alcoholic beverages from.
On top of all that the caterer also set up a tent on the lake side of the Pavilion where the reception foods would be served from. They also moved the conversation pit to the skate park side of the Pavilion giving them space to set up the tables where people could sit and eat.
And prior to all that happening, the landscapers had come in the past week and a half and added mulch and winter flowers to brighten up the entire area not only for the weeding, but for the overall appearance of The Cove itself.
At his school, Phillip talked with his band members and reminded them to be dressed in the suit that his ‘dad’ had rented for the reception, and to be at The Cove by twelve noon. He told them that even though the reception begins at one o’clock that people would arrive early and they needed to be tuned up and possibly playing as the guests arrive.
The Cover’s classmates heard everything that Phillip was telling the band and they were all confused. Many of them couldn’t believe that the band was playing at a wedding tomorrow. They thought that because of their age they wouldn’t be hired for such a prestigious event.
Twelve-year-old Bryce Harris heard some of them talking and told them that they’ve already played at three paying venues and that they were being paid to play at the Diamond-Whittier reception tomorrow being held at The Cove.
The band’s newest drummer, Marshall Gray, then spoke out and told the gathered students that they would also be auditioning to play at the Four Corners Amusement Park. That last declaration had some of the classmates giggling.
But Marshall wouldn’t be deterred. He told them to just wait and see if they don’t see some of them playing at night over at Four Corners during the Holidays. The band members then turned their collective backs at the group of naysayers and continued to talk about tomorrow’s gig.
Just before Mr. Ken left the office for the coming Thanksgiving Holiday week, Emilio Ramirez, the Three Finger Real Estate Group manager, and Realtor, stopped by his office.
“Mr. Thomas I am so glad I caught you before you left,” stated Mr. Ramirez.
“And why is that, Emilio?” asked an interested Mr. Ken.
“I believe … I think we might have some movement on those 8+ acres next to Four Corners. I just had a phone call from my contact in the man’s inner circle who told me that the property’s owner doesn’t … that he isn’t happy about there being a roller coaster right next to where he wants to build his office building.
“Mr. Ken … if we play our cards right … we could possibly have this property before the end of the year or … or maybe even sooner,” excitedly announce Mr. Ramirez.
“Emilio that is great news. Keep working this issue, but don’t overplay your hand. If you get a chance at a contract, I’ll be on my cell phone all next week. Call me. OK?” replied Mr. Ken, who then shook Emilio Ramirez’s hand for giving him such good news.
Ken Thomas arrived home about the same time the three younger Cover boys were getting of their school bus. He waved to them as he entered The Cove, and it was then that he finally saw all the wedding decorations that had been placed all over the estate.
When the boys entered the house, they immediately went to the Study and asked their ‘dad’ why he didn’t wait for them and give them a ride down to the house. ‘Dad’ Ken just smiled and told them that they needed the exercise. Then he told them they better get over to the Kitchen Nook for their afterschool snack before Momma gets the ‘spoon’ after them. The boys left the Study laughing.
Dennis was in the Study listening to all that, but Wayne still hadn’t shown up. Dennis did tell the owner of The Cove that his right-hand man was at home recuperating from a week with the boys, and would be here tomorrow before the reception. Mr. Ken just smiled at hearing that.
“So, Dennis, tell me … are you ready to spend an extended period with the boys?” asked a smiling Mr. Ken, and the man’s employer.
“Can I get back with you on that, Mr. Ken. I … I want to consult with my cohort to find out why … ahh, why he’s at home recuperating,” laughed Dennis. Mr. Ken smiled at his answer.
It was closer to five o’clock when the limousine carrying Kate, Edith and the boys came through the Main Gate of The Cove. Ken, Momma, Dennis and all the boys were outside the Foyer entrance waiting for the hired car to stop there, so they could all greet them.
Kate was the first one out of the vehicle and Ken went to her, hugged her and then kissed her. Then the two allowed the rest of the people out of the vehicle.
Jessy went right to Sarge and began hugging him. The two knew one another as the boy had visited there only a month ago. As those two got reacquainted with one another, the Cover boys took their guests suitcase up to their rooms.
After the women freshened up after their long day’s flight and ride to The Cove, everyone then met down in the Great Room where there was a comfortable place for everyone. There they talked about the guest’s charter flight before Momma called them for dinner. Dinner that night was Mexican Taco Meatloaf.
Momma brought out an old recipe that she had never made before, Mexican Taco Meatloaf. This was a Mexican family favorite that included very lean ground beef, onions, crushed tortilla chips, pepper jack cheese, taco seasoning, eggs, milk and mild red taco sauce.
Momma also included some sweet corn, chopped tomatoes and a few green chilies for extra flavor. With that she served a salad, with different dressings for everyone to choose from, side dishes of macaroni and cheese, chipotle black bean soup, mashed potatoes, and a green bean casserole.
And for dessert, Momma fixed a fruit salad with bananas, ripe mangoes, oranges, kiwi, pineapple and grapes and she had a whipped cream topping for it as well. And with everything there were sweet tea, three different milks, and coffee for everyone to drink.
The twelve people at the dining room table were again treated to a wonderful Momma Maria Mexican meal that they would not soon forget. Everyone, including the two youngest boys, loved the unique flavors they all tasted in the meatloaf. Mr. Dennis was again invited to supper that night and he couldn’t believe that Momma wasn’t hired somewhere as a chef, her cooking was so authentic.
Everyone also enjoyed the fruit salad that night and when it was brought out to the table, after the boys helped clear the table, Mr. Ken asked Momma to sit with them and enjoy it with them. No one came away from the table hungry that night.
After dinner, they all gathered in the more comfortable Great Room where Mr. Ken covered the events that were likely to happen at The Cove during the week. The man discussed the wedding that was scheduled to happen at eleven o’clock that next morning on the Patio. He asked everyone not to gaze out the large Great Room windows as the ceremony was going on. Then he added the bedroom windows as well.
Mr. Ken then added for them to be ready for any changes on the fly tomorrow, so for them not to be running around in their underwear. That made the boys all laugh, especially Rusty and Jessy.
As he continued, the owner of The Cove reviewed the rest of the following day’s activities. He wanted Kate and Edith to know that the wedding guests would probably start arriving at the reception sometime after twelve-thirty and that the band would begin arriving around twelve noon to set up and be ready to play as the guests begin to arrive.
Mr. Ken told everyone that he expected the reception to last at a minimum of three hours and that is could go as long as five depending on how long the newly wedded couple decides to stay and talk to their guests and how well the band plays. The older boys laughed and lightly punched Phillip on his shoulder.
“Mommy, why did my older ‘brothers’ punch Phillip on his shoulder?” asked Jessy, after seeing the older Cover boys do what they did.
Phillip heard the question, so he decided to answer for Kate. “Jessy, that’s because it’s my band who is playing tomorrow, and they were teasing me that we better play well.”
Jessy looked to his mom for conformation and all Kate did was nod her head, saying that what Phillip said was true.
“We are all invited to attend the reception, so you can go up and congratulate the newlyweds and, of course, get something to eat. Jules selected my caterer for his reception, so the foods should be very good. And boys, we need to keep Chief and Sarge down here and away from the guests, as we don’t know if any of them are dog unfriendly. Matthew that’s going to be your job for tomorrow. OK?
“If we are all still hungry after the reception, we can go out for dinner to someplace nice. We can discuss that tomorrow. Any questions?”
“Then on Sunday, Momma will be in to cook us a wonderful breakfast. There is one thing planned for that day, but it is a surprise that I will let you all in on tomorrow evening after the reception winds down.”
“‘Dad’,” began Phillip, “when is the band going to audition for Four Corners? I thought you said it might be Saturday, or Sun.” And the boy stopped in mid-sentence. He then realized that the band was probably going to audition on Sunday.
What the young Cover didn’t know was that the band was going to actually audition at Four Corners, and not at the Pavilion, as they all thought. That was the surprise that Mr. Ken was going to reveal to the boys and their parents after the reception.
Mr. Ken then told everyone that he hoped to take them all to SeaWorld sometime during the week. He indicated that he and Kate needed to coordinate that, but it would probably be either Monday or Tuesday. He continued and explained that on Thanksgiving day there would be about twenty people in attendance and dinner would be served around two o’clock by Momma and her amigas.
Robert quickly asked where their big ‘brother’ Collin was. The teen’s dad told his son that Collin went by his home to check on the progress of the remodel, and that he should be there late tomorrow night.
The boy’s ‘dad’ then told Bill that the college junior would be sharing the room with him. Mr. Ken then added an off-hand remark saying that maybe he should start looking at converting that open space over the garage into those bedrooms he told the boys about a few weeks back. The boys all raised their hands to volunteer to take one of them.
Kate looked at Ken with a question in her eyes that asked him what that was all about. Ken told her that he’d show her later, so she understood what he meant. Even Edith and Dennis were curious as to what that was all about, too.
Friday, ‘dad’ Ken told everyone, would be a day of rest and recuperationas Ms. Kate, Ms. Edith and the boys would be leaving some time on Saturday. He also told everyone to be flexible as the weather could change and throw well-made plans out the door.
When the meeting was over, Rusty and Jessy asked if they could go up to the skate park and have their big ‘brothers’ show them some ‘moves’. Kate laughed and looking at the time wondered if it was light enough. Ken told her that the boys would just turn the lights on. She agreed but told the big ‘brothers’ that her boys needed to be back by nine-thirty at the latest, as they just had a long day and needed their sleep.
Dennis excused himself for the night and then it was just Ken, Kate and Edith sitting in the Great Room. Ken then decided to tell them a little about his newest foster son, Darrin, so they could understand why he was living there. After their host’s short briefing, they were sorry that the teenager had lost everything he had, and were happy that Ken could offer him so much more than he could ever imagine.
When 9:30 came the eight boys came back to the house and Rusty and Jessy couldn’t contain themselves with what they were taught up at the Cove Skate Park. As soon as they were down in the Great Room, they both started telling their mom what they were doing and how much better they were at using their skateboard and how they couldn’t wait until tomorrow, so their big ‘brothers’ could show them some more.
But their mother had to remind them that there would be a big wedding reception up at the skate park tomorrow, and that they wouldn’t be able to use it until after all the guests left. The disappointment on the boys’ faces could be seen by everyone.
‘Dad’ Ken told his ‘boys’ that they should probably head up to their rooms and start relaxing before getting into bed. He then reminded Matthew and Phillip that they would have roommates for the next seven nights.
Kate decided it was late enough for her two, so she took her boys up to her room to get them ready for bed. Edith also decided that she had a long day and wanted to relax some by reading and then she would turn in herself. It wasn’t long before Ken Thomas was in the Great Room all by himself.
‘Dad’ Ken gave the boys about twenty minutes before he went up to say goodnight to them. He started in Billy’s room and casually reminded him that Collin would be bunking in with him until he went back to college.
In Robert and Charles’ rooms, he told his sons that it will be a long week and he will look to them to help keep Rusty and Jessy busy and out of trouble. The boys laughed and told him that was what big ‘brothers’ were for.
In Matthew’s room ‘dad’ Ken made sure that his keeping Chief and Sarge in the house tomorrow wouldn’t be a hardship for the boy. Matthew said that he’d get up to the reception at some point during the day and that the resident pets would understand that they had to stay there.
In Phillip’s room, ‘dad’ Ken asked the boy if he had texted his band members about when they were going to audition. Phillip said that he had. ‘Dad’ Ken said that it was ok that they and their parents now knew, so they could plan.
But Phillip got this feeling that there was more to it, so he asked his ‘dad’, “‘Dad’, is there more to it than us just auditioning on Sunday? It feels like there is … from the way you worded it.”
“‘Son’, you’ll just have to wait until after the reception is over. That’s all,” answered ‘dad’ Ken.
“I’ll bet there is more to it, ‘dad’,” continued, Phillip.
“Phillip … I’m going to ask you NOT … not to go down that rabbit hole and tell your band mates what you think. You hear me!” sternly spoke ‘dad’ Ken.
Phillip looked at his ‘dad’, and hearing the way he’d put it knew he’d better keep his mouth shut, so he answered, “Yes, sir!”
Kate dropped off Jessy just then, so ‘dad’ Ken took some time to talk to Jessy, as he’d done to the other boys. The man asked him about the flight and the food and if he was looking forward to going to SeaWorld. Jessy answered all his questions and when ‘dad’ Ken was ready to leave he kissed the young boy on the forehead and told him to sleep well. Jessy smiled and went right over to the empty bed and climbed right in.
‘Dad’ Ken then went back to Matthew’s room to talk to Rusty, to make sure he didn’t feel left out. The man asked him the same questions that he asked his younger brother. Rusty answered them and when ‘dad’ Ken was ready to leave he kissed the young boy on his forehead and told him to sleep well.
Sarge was right there begging for a belly rub, so Mr. Ken gave him one. Rusty laughed that Mr. Ken had done that. So, Mr. Ken went right over to the boy and began giving him a belly rub too. Rusty laughed hard and Matthew looked on and smiled at the two.
Kate saw the silliness, but she also saw that her boys relished the contact they got from their big ‘brothers’ and her boyfriend, and she knew that marrying the man would be good for them all.
Out in the hallway Kate was going to say something to her boyfriend, but he told her that he had one more boy to visit.
“What was all that laughing and giggling I heard a few moments ago?” asked Darrin, as Mr. Ken walked to his room.
“Oh, that? That was me giving Rusty a belly rub, like I gave Sarge. He laughed that I gave Sarge one, so I turned the tables around on him,” laughed the foster dad.
“Darrin, I’m sorry for not taking the time to formally introduce you to our guests. I’ll make sure to do that tomorrow at breakfast, OK? Kate … well, she is something very important to me and I just forgot my manners when they arrived. I hope you’ll forgive me,” announced Mr. Ken.
Darrin told his foster dad that he understood and that she seemed awfully nice and that her sons were fun to be around, too. Before leaving the teen’s room, Mr. Ken told Darrin to sleep well and that he’d see him in the Kitchen Nook for breakfast.
Kate had waited for her boyfriend out in the hallway. She wasn’t close enough to hear what was being said, so she couldn’t comment on that. But she did tell Ken that her boys loved it when he said goodnight to them, as his did his own ‘sons’. She told him that she tried to do that with them at home, but it doesn’t go over as well as it does here, meaning The Cove.
Ken walked Kate to her room and told her that he thinks it has something to do with them not having a male role model in their lives. He also told her that when they see him giving each boy some special time alone with him, they subconsciously might want that too, in a way.
Kate smiled at her boyfriend, at the answer, and then the two hugged and before long they kissed. The kiss was very passionate and there was more than one. The two then said goodnight to one another and they each went to their own bedroom.
In his retreat, Ken Thomas was thankful that his girlfriend was there for the Thanksgiving Holiday. After getting ready for bed, he went over something that he had been mulling around in his mind for some time. He told himself that this might be the right time to act on it.
With three adults, eight boys and two resident pets inside the house you would have thought that the house would be overloaded with noise. But that surely wasn’t the case, as before long everyone was fast asleep and The Cove was whisper quiet throughout the night.
