From The Previous Chapter:
The Covers stopped at Mr. Ken’s Kreamy Kone to get Chief her cup of ice cream who received it with the gusto she is known for. The thing she did not do was bowl Phillip over. She did however, plant many doggie kisses on him for bringing her the cold concoction she so loved.
Mr. Ken sent the boys up to their rooms after they watched Chief eat her ice cream. They already had their evening meeting while they ate earlier, so there was no need for them to cover the information again.
‘Dad’ Ken didn’t spend much time in each boy’s room that Sunday night. He told them to relax and not stay up to late and he’d see them in the morning at breakfast. The boys all got hugs from the man before he left their room. The Cove was quiet all night through.
The boys all woke up refreshed. Charles and Matthew used the Boy’s Bathroom to get ready for school, while Phillip still used the alternate bathroom the boys convinced Mr. Ken to modify back when the twin’s and Mark still lived at The Cove.
The three younger Cover’s all arrived in the Kitchen Nook at the same time, telling Mr. Ken “Good morning”, and Phillip quickly taking care of Chief’s water and kibble before sitting down to a Momma Maria breakfast.
Mr. Ken told Phillip his eye doctor appointment was after he arrived home from school and that either he or Mr. Wayne would take him. The man asked Charles what day he was supposed to get his braces adjusted, so he could plan to take him.
Charles took out his cell phone, checked the calendar, and told his dad he was scheduled to have his braces adjusted on Thursday at 4:30. Dad Ken took out his cell phone and put that information in his own cell phone. And then he set the alarm to ring when he got to his office so he could have Rosemary put it on his master schedule.
The three boys were leaving to catch the school bus as the two high school students were getting out of bed. Robert and Billy went to the bathroom and brushed their teeth, took their shower, then got dressed for their day. They then went down to the Kitchen Nook for breakfast.
“Good morning, boys,” called out Mr. Ken, as the two high school teenagers came into the Kitchen Nook.
“Good morning, dad,” replied Robert.
“Good morning, Mr. Ken,” answered Billy.
Momma Maria brought the boys their breakfast and they thanked her and began eating. Robert tried to get his dad to tell them what he had planned for them during their family day, but the man would not tell his son. He just told the teenager that he would have to wait until Sunday, and see what he had planned, just as his ‘brothers’ would.
After the older Cover boys left for school, Mr. Chris and Mr. Wayne arrived for their day. Mr. Ken made sure Chris was finding out in which woman’s prison Amelia Dirketson was housed and what were the visiting hours. The owner of The Cove also wanted the Estate Manager to find out how much money Bill could add to his mom’s commissary account while he was there.
That last question caught Chris off guard, so he asked for some clarification. The man’s employer explained that Bill wanted to give his mom some spending money, so she could buy herself some much-needed things to help make her stay a bit more bearable. Mr. Ken also asked Chris to do the same for Robert’s mom, Angela, as he wanted to do the same for her when he visited her, sometime in May, after he and Bill visited his mom.
Mr. Ken then coordinated with Wayne that one of them needed to take Phillip to get his eyes examined later today to see if he needed glasses and, if he did, to order them. The man then reminded his Estate Master that both Phillip and Bill would see Doctor Doug that week and they should get Dennis to take the boys. Mr. Ken then said he planned to take Charles to get his braces adjusted on Thursday. The owner of The Cover added he needed to talk to the dentist and get an update on his son’s progress. Then he added that Phillip also needed to see the dentist that week, some time.
Mr. Ken then asked Chris, or Wayne, to coordinate with the construction supervisor at the marina so that he could show the boys around the area on Sunday, so they could see what was happening there. The owner of The Cove said he was also going to stop by the new car wash and the boat storage area construction sites, so he asked the men to also coordinate with the construction supervisors there, too.
He explained he wanted the boys to see those two new venues for the first time, as well, and ask questions about them. He told the men not to mention it to the boys, as it was some of the things he wanted to do during their ‘Family Day’ on Easter Sunday.
Ken Thomas also asked them to find out if the shooting range would be open on Easter and, if so, what their hours would be. He explained he wanted to take the boys over there to shoot, as they hadn’t done that in quite some time.
Then, before he left for the office, Mr. Ken mentioned to the two men that the Memorial Day Picnic would be happening sooner than they think and he asked them if the invitations were ready to go out to the VIPs.
Mr. Chris added that school was out in about seven weeks and he asked if everything was ready for their trip to visit the amusement parks. Mr. Chris said he had everything planned out and all he needed were the dates and if he was going to stay at Crystal Lake as he did the last time.
Mr. Ken smiled at the question. He told Mr. Chris he was hoping that Kate and the boys would travel with them to the other parks, so they could also see them. The man said it would be nice if Kate could see them and then know what he was talking about when they did talk at the time. Both Chris and Wayne snickered.
Mr. Chris then said he’d plan on an extra hotel room at the other amusement park stops just in case Kate and the boys did tag along. He added he’d supply extra transportation there as well, but he could also cancel them if Kate decided it was too much traveling for her boys over such a short time.
When Mr. Ken arrived at the office, he had Rosemary put his Thursday appointment with Charles on his calendar. She then handed him his messages and he went to work returning calls and looking over reports from his other businesses.
While Mr. Ken was working, he received a phone call from Mackenzie’s doctor. The doctor told him that Phillip’s mom had come out of her coma and was doing surprisingly well, and was asking about her son. The doctor asked if he could bring the boy over after school today.
Mr. Ken told the doctor that the court decreed that they weren’t to have any contact until Mrs. Flores had completed a certain amount of her court ordered requirements. He added he would have to contact CPS and have them explain the circumstances to the judge and ask if Phillip could stop by the hospital to see his mom. Mr. Ken told the doctor he would call him when he learns the judge’s decision.
Ken Thomas then called Judy Turner and explained the situation to the Director of Children’s Protective Services. Ms. Judy thanked her friend for the heads-up and told him she would have their lawyer get in touch with the judge and get his decision. She told him not to hold his breath as it could take two or three days before they heard back from him.
At the high school that morning, word quickly got around that Billy had a Krispy Kreme Donut Birthday Cake for his sixteenth birthday. The girls came over and had to ask him all about it and how he came to have Krispy Kreme donuts made into a birthday cake instead of the normal two-layer type cake.
Billy told them how his foster dad had forgotten about Saturday being his birthday and while they were talking about it the man kiddingly mentioned using the Krispy Kreme donuts instead and the Cover agreed. The Cover said they celebrated his birthday on Sunday.
Elsewhere at the high school, Robert, with Eric in tow, found Whitney Neezeman and told her what his dad said about her stopping by on Saturday. Whitney asked the Cover what time she and her friend could stop by. Robert said that the Easter Egg Roll started at twelve, noon, and by the time it was over and they cleaned up afterwards, she could probably stop by around 2:30.
Whitney then asked if they should bring their skateboards, swimsuits and towels. Robert laughed and told her that because it was so late, they would probably burn the burgers and dogs and it would be too late to swim when that was all put away and cleaned up. The Cover teen did tell her to bring their skateboards, and he would give them real good helmets and pads to keep them from getting bruises and of those ugly scars on her knees. The two had a good laugh.
When Phillip arrived at his school, Westin was waiting for him. The friend couldn’t thank the Cover enough for all the fun he had yesterday and that he was looking forward to Saturday and the Easter Egg Roll.
A few of their classmates heard the two talking and they wanted to know what that was all about. So, Westin explained what he got to do at The Cove that weekend. The classmates were all surprised at what it took to get the Easter Egg Roll put together and that Westin, Preston, Bryson and Phillip all helped in getting all one thousand Easter Eggs ready for next Saturday.
Some of the classmates had heard about what was at The Cove for all the boys to do, and they listened to what Westin had to say about what he saw and the older boys cooking burgers and hot dogs for everyone and then the games they all played in the indoor pool.
Some of the boy’s classmates then asked who was allowed to come to Three Finger Cove to see if they could get one of the prize eggs. Phillip told them they had to be ten-years of age or younger and they had to be accompanied by their parents. Most of the classmates were already eleven and knew they couldn’t attend the Easter Egg Run.
After school, Mr. Wayne took Phillip to have his eyes examined. Mr. Chris had made the appointment with an ophthalmologist who asked why they were coming to him for the boy to just get glasses.
Mr. Wayne explained that Doctor Rick Powers had done an intake physical on the youngster and suggested Phillip get an in-depth examination of his eyes, as his office exam indicated a possible problem with the boy’s vision.
The doctor said he knew Doctor Powers and with that explanation he understood the doctor’s desire for a more thorough assessment of the boy’s vision. So, the ophthalmologist had Phillip lean back and he put some drops in the boy’s eyes and explained he would be looking into the eyes to see if there were any problems within the eye itself.
Once the pupils were fully dilatated, the doctor then used an ophthalmoscope to shine a beam of light through Phillip’s pupil to see the back of his eye. He wanted to evaluate the back of the boy’s eye, including the retina, optic disk and the underlying layer of blood vessels that nourished the retina.
When he was finished looking at the eye, the doctor told Mr. Wayne he didn’t see anything that caused him any alarms like any indication of diabetes or infection, cataracts, or any damage to the optic nerve. The doctor said the boy’s eyes looked to be in good order and if this was his first ophthalmic inspection, then it was a good call by Doctor Powers.
The ophthalmologist then told the Estate Master that since he dilated the boy’s eyes, he couldn’t do an eye examination to see if he needed glasses, or not. The doctor said he needed the boy’s eyes to be in their normal state, and he could have his receptionist make an appointment for tomorrow or later in the week when it fit their schedule.
At dinner that night, the boys asked Phillip about his eye appointment. The young Cover told them how the doctor put some drops in his eyes that made them burn some and then he shined a really bright light into them, so he could see the back of the eye. The youngster then told his ‘brothers’ that he has to go back, so the doctor can check to see if he still needs glasses, but the good thing he learned was that he doesn’t have any diseases of his eyes. All the boys said they were happy to hear that.
The Covers had their usual after dinner meeting in the Study and Mr. Ken covered who had what appointment that week, the Memorial Day Picnic, that Mr. Chris was working on their after-school trip and that Charles had his fourteenth birthday this coming weekend. He then reminded his son that the two of them needed to sit down at the computer and look over the Go-Pros to see which one would be best for him to have to take on the rides.
That night, only ‘dad’ Ken visited the boys in their rooms before they went to bed. He did talk to Phillip about his eye appointment and what he thought about it. Phillip said he still didn’t think he needed that physical, but he was looking forward to seeing Doctor Doug tomorrow.
The Cove was quiet through the night.
When the Cover’s woke up on Tuesday morning, they found that it was raining. Charles told Matthew they’ll have to run through the rain drops when they go up the rise to catch the school bus. Matthew laughed.
Mr. Dennis did go to the school that afternoon to get Phillip so he could take him over to see Doctor Doug. On the way over to the doctor’s office, Mr. Dennis asked the boy what he thought about seeing the doctor.
Phillip told the Assistant Estate Master that he’d only talked with Doctor Doug one time, but he liked how easy it was to talk to him and that none of what he told him, he never talked to Mr. Ken about it. The young Cover told Mr. Dennis that his ‘brothers’ have all talked with Doctor Doug and told him that he’ll help him work through his problems, and help him see how being at The Cove is the best thing for him right now.
Phillip and Mr. Dennis went up to Doctor Doug’s office and the receptionist checked the boy in. The two sat down and waited for the doctor to come out and take Phillip into his office. When Doctor Doug came out, he greeted Mr. Dennis and then he and the Cover went into the room to talk.
When the doctor and Phillip went into the office, Mr. Dennis then called Wayne to let him know that Phillip was at his appointment and everything was OK. When the appointment was over, Mr. Dennis walked Phillip to the Men’s Rest Room and stayed outside until he was done, and then the two Cover’s headed back to The Cove.
After dinner, Mr. Ken pulled Phillip aside, before the Covers went to the Study to talk, and asked him if his meeting with Doctor Doug went as well as their first meeting. Phillip smiled and told his foster dad that he really liked talking to Doctor Doug. The boy added that Doctor Doug was helping him understand what was happening to him and why. Phillip then thanked Mr. Ken with a hug for getting Doctor Doug to talk with him.
In the Study, Mr. Ken reviewed the rest of the week with the boys and reminded them to tell their friends to be at The Cove by 10 a.m. on Saturday. The boys again asked their ‘dad’ what he had planned for them during their ‘Family Day’ and all ‘Dad’ Ken would tell them was to ‘wait and see’.
The week moved along quickly. On Wednesday, Mr. Dennis took Billy to see Doctor Doug and when Phillip returned home from school Mr. Wayne was waiting for him to take him to see the dentist.
Of course, Mr. Dennis was still curious about why the boys went to see the Child Psychologist, so he asked Billy why he went to see the doctor. Billy told the man that Doctor Doug was easy to talk with and he offered him a different perspective on his situation and how to look at it. The teen added that the doctor never tells Mr. Ken what they talk about, so he feels free to talk about anything and everything that is on his mind.
Billy then told Mr. Dennis that Doctor Doug helped him understand that Mr. Ken was there to give him a warm and loving place to call home, a stable environment in which to grow and to help lead him into adulthood with a chance at a good future, if he doesn’t follow his mom and step-dad into a life of crime.
Billy finished by telling Mr. Dennis that ever since he began living with Mr. Ken, he felt like he had a place he could now call ‘home’ and a ‘family’, with ‘brothers’ like he never had before and he wasn’t going to do anything that would ruin that for him.
At the dentist, Phillip wasn’t a happy camper. There he learned he had four cavities that needed to be drilled and filled, and Mr. Wayne wanted at least one of them taken care of while they were there. Phillip knew it would be futile to argue with the Estate Master, so he just sat back and let the dentist decide which tooth to work on.
Actually, the dentist was able to take care of two cavities that afternoon. He used a local anesthesia, Lidocaine, to numb the lower right side of the boy’s mouth and was able to take care of two cavities at the same time.
On the ride back to The Cove, Phillip complained that he won’t be able to eat later as his mouth will still be numb. He also complained that he was having a difficult time talking. All Mr. Wayne did was laugh and tell the Cover that he could understand every word of complaint. The boy stared at the man, then laughed himself.
At school the next day, Phillip had to tell his friends how he had to have two cavities filled last night before dinner. His three friends told him they felt sorry for him, but that if he took better care of his teeth, he wouldn’t get cavities. They then laughed.
The Cover said his mom never took him to see a dentist and yesterday was the first time he ever went to one. He told his friends he had two more cavities he still needed to get taken care of and that he had an appointment next week for one of them.
At breakfast on Thursday, dad Ken told his son, Charles, that he’d be at the school at 3 p.m. to pick him up, so for him not to get on the school bus. He told the teen they’d go to the dentist straight from the school. Charles smiled that his dad remembered that he had to get his braces adjusted that day and his dad would be taking him.
Mr. Ken then told Phillip that Mr. Wayne would be taking him to see the ophthalmologist after he returned to The Cove. The man added the doctor would be checking his eyes to see if he needed glasses and if he did, they would be ordering them for him. Phillip couldn’t believe everything that was happening to him, but he knew Mr. Ken was doing it for his own good. He hoped.
At the office that morning, Mr. Ken received a phone call from Judy Turner. He was on another call with one of his park operators, so he placed that call on HOLD, and immediately picked up to talk to Ms. Judy.
“Yes, Judy, what do you have for me?” quickly asked Mr. Ken.
“Ken, the judge … he talked with the doctor and agreed with him and said that you could take Phillip over to see his mom. But … but it was to be only for a few minutes. The judge said it was so the mom could see that her son was well and that was all. He added they weren’t to have a long-drawn-out conversation,” explained the Director of Children’s Protective Services.
“Thank you, Judy for getting that for me, I mean Phillip. I know Phillip will be very happy his mom has come out of her coma and is on her way to recovery. The boy does have an eye doctor appointment after school today. Wayne is taking him.
“Whereas, I am taking Charles to have his braces adjusted after school and so I can also get an update from the doctor. That means I will take Phillip over to see his mom after dinner tonight. Will you be there?” finished Ken Thomas with the question.
“No, Ken, I won’t be there. But I know you won’t linger longer than is necessary. And, please don’t. I know Phillip … he will want to stay and talk with his mom, but the judge did say a ‘few minutes’. At least they will see one another and know they are both well. Let me know how it goes, will you? I’ll talk with you later, Ken,” finished Ms. Judy.
Ken Thomas told Judy Turner he understood what she meant by a few minutes and that he would explain it to Phillip. He then told her that he’d call her after they returned to The Cove later tonight. The two then ended their call and Mr. Ken went back to his original phone call.
Charles couldn’t wait until his dad came to the school to take him to the dentist. The teen didn’t like getting his braces adjusted, as his mouth hurt for two days afterwards, as the teeth needed to get used to the new adjustment. What he was looking forward to, though, was being alone with his dad for all that time.
At the orthodontist’s office the doctor and Mr. Ken talked about Charles’ progress and how much longer the teenager would have before the braces could come off for good. The doctor told the teen’s dad that it usually took a year for the braces to straighten out the teeth and that Charles was only about six months into his treatment.
The orthodontist then proceeded to take off the current braces and had Charles go brush his teeth before putting on the new ones. And before the new braces were put into place, the teenager got to choose the color or colors of the O-Rings to be used on the brackets. The nurse showed him forty different colors to choose from. This time he chose green and blue.
During dinner, Mr. Ken told the boys that he was taking Phillip to visit his mom when they finished eating, so that there would be no meeting in the Study tonight. He told them that their ‘brothers’ mom did awaken from her coma and had been asking about her son, and the judge gave him permission to take him over to visit her for a few minutes.
The boys were happy for Phillip and the boy was all smiles, he was getting to finally see his mom again since he hadn’t seen her for over a week. He couldn’t wait. The boy then told his ‘brothers’ that the doctor told him he needed glasses, that Mr. Wayne had him choose what frames he liked, and they should be in next week. He would be the first Cover to wear glasses.
Once the younger Cover and his foster dad were in the F-150, Mr. Ken told Phillip that the judge told Ms. Judy that he could see his mom for a few minutes and that they could not have an extended conversation. Phillip asked what was meant by an ‘extended conversation’. The foster dad told his foster son that they probably could talk for about ten but no more than fifteen minutes. Phillip said in reply, “Oh.”
At the hospital, the two Covers asked where Mackenzie Flores’ room was. They learned she was no longer in the ICU ward and was now in the rehabilitation wing. The two walked in that direction.
When they arrived, Mr. Ken introduced himself and Phillip and why they were there. The nurse said they were expecting them and escorted them to Mackenzie’s room.
“Phillip, oh my Philly,” called out Mackenzie, when she saw her son enter the room.
“Mom, mom,” called back the boy, as he ran to his mother and hugged her.
“Look at you! Are they feeding you well? Do you have a good home to live in? Are you OK?” asked the boy’s mother, as she held her son.
“Mom, this is Mr. Ken. He’s … he’s my foster dad and I’m staying with him until … until you get better and do whatever the judge says you need to do so we can get back together. I live … I live in this big house on the lake and we have a woman who makes all of our meals during the week. I … I also have four ‘brothers’ and a dog that I take care of,” enthusiastically answered the mom’s son.
“Four brothers? I only had you Philly. Where’d you get four brothers?” asked a confused Mackenzie.
“Oh, mom, Mr. Ken … he adopted two boys and he also fosters boys like me. We call one another ‘brother’. That’s where I got four ‘brothers’, and I also have a dog named Chief. She’s a great dog, mom. She even sleeps in my room,” continued an excited Phillip.
“Philly, he’s … he’s so young. How can … how can he afford to have a big house on the lake and … and how did he ever get to adopt two boys?” asked Makenzie.
“Mom, I don’t know the answer to those questions. What I do know is that he knows a police lieutenant, and the lady at CPS who took me to him. And, he also has a bunch of armed guards at the estate, so … I guess he has to have lots of money, mom,” answered the woman’s son.
“At least you are living in a better home than I provided for you, Philly. And look at the clothes you are wearing. You sure look nice. You make sure you don’t make him mad and he sends you away. You hear me, Philly?” demanded Mackenzie.
“I won’t mom. I love it there. I have three good friends, a Cove Skate Park, and an indoor swimming pool and lots of other things to keep me and my friends busy. He’s also going to take us on a trip to his amusement parks when school’s out, so I’ll be sure to be good,” answered the smiling Cover.
“And, mom, this Saturday, Mr. Ken … he’s having an Easter Egg Roll at his place for kids aged two through ten. Last weekend we … that’s my ‘brothers’ and all of our friends, filled one thousand plastic eggs with candy and prize coupons.
“Then, this weekend mom, we, my ‘brothers’ and our friends, are supposed to spread them out on his estate this Saturday and the kids in the neighborhood get to run and grab as many as they can, I can’t wait,” enthusiastically got out Phillip.
“Oh, my Philly. That sounds so … so good and exciting, but … I miss you so much. I guess … I guess I stayed away once too many times, huh?” asked a somber Mackenzie Flores.
“Mom … they … they warned you … they warned you that they would take me away if you stayed out all night again, and … and they did. They took me straight from school mom, to Mr. Ken’s house. They … they didn’t even let me get any of my clothes or anything. They told me that … they told me that we couldn’t see one another until … that until you completed whatever the judge said you had to do.
“Then … then on Sunday, they … they told me you … you were attacked and were taken to the hospital. I … I was afraid I would lose you,” now openly cried Phillip, who hugged his mom, who hugged him in return.
After a few moments, Phillip pulled back and told his mom, with the tears still on his cheeks, that he couldn’t stay long. That shocked Mackenzie and she asked him why. Mr. Ken spoke up just then and told her that the judge allowed the meeting. He explained that since she had just awakened from her coma, the judge wanted her and Phillip to see one another to know that you were both well.
Mackenzie began to cry and asked when she would see her Philly again. Mr. Ken told her that she wouldn’t get to see her son until she completed the courts requirements, or the judge allowed another meeting as he did tonight.
Phillip quickly asked his mom if Rafael and his gang were the ones who had attacked her. The woman didn’t want to answer right away. But Phillip persisted and asked his mom again if Rafael and his men came to their apartment asking her about a gun, and attacked her when she didn’t know anything about it. Mackenzie broke down and cried without answering her son.
Phillip turned to his foster dad and hugged him and cried, knowing inside of him that the man was indeed the person who put his mom in the hospital. Mackenzie saw her son turn to the man that brought him to her and knew right away that her son had a man in his life that he obviously trusted. She also noticed the man was about the age of her estranged lover who helped produce her son and wished she had known him then and was her lover now.
Phillip turned back to his mom and went and hugged her. He told her to get better and do what the judge wanted her to do so they could get back together again and soon. Mackenzie said she would as she hugged her son. Phillip saw her tears fall as she said that.
Mr. Ken told Phillip they needed to go and to give his mom a final hug and a kiss. Phillip did just that and as the Cover’s left the room, the boy turned to his mother and the two waved at one another.
As Phillip walked out into the waiting area, he saw a few of the residents from where he used to live waiting to go in and see his mom. They talked to him about where he was staying and Mr. Ken nudged him not to answer that. The young Cover did tell the people that he was now in foster care and would be there until his mom got better. Then, they all said their goodbyes and the Covers headed back to The Cove.
Phillip was upbeat on the ride home. He told his foster dad that his mom didn’t say that Rafael was responsible for her being in the hospital, but the way she reacted told him he had to be. He said he hoped she would tell the police who did it and they would arrest them.
His ‘brothers’ were waiting for him when he returned to The Cove and Phillip had to tell them how well his mom was and how soon she would be better. The boy explained that he never asked that question, as they only had ten to fifteen minutes to talk. The boy then looked to Mr. Ken and asked him to call the doctor tomorrow and to try to find out that answer.
When the boys went up to their rooms, Mr. Ken called Judy and told her about the mom and son’s reunion. He told her it lasted for about twelve minutes which included all the tears and hugs. The man added that Phillip is relieved that his mom is getting better. Judy thanked Ken for everything that he does for his foster sons.
When Mr. Ken visited the boys that evening before bed, Phillip thanked him for taking him to see his mom. He said that now that he knows she will get better, he can now focus on being a good Cover and ‘brother’. Mr. Ken hugged the boy and told him he knew he would be.
In Charles’ room, his son thanked him for going to the orthodontist with him today. The teen added that today felt special to him and he wished they could do more things together. Dad Ken hugged his son and told the teen he had many responsibilities and he understood what he was saying. He told his son he hoped they could do something together, again, soon.
In Billy’s room, Mr. Ken told the teen that with the DA working with him on Saturday, the 29th, they would have to go and visit his mom on that Sunday, which will probably make it a very long day of driving to and from the prison. The man wanted the teen to know they could delay the visit to the following Saturday, if he wanted. Billy said he would think about it, but, for now, he wanted to go as soon as he could.
In Robert’s and Matthew’s rooms the two boys asked about their ‘Family Day’, but again ‘dad’ Ken would not budge on telling them what he had planned for them. Matthew did ask his foster dad if he would ever adopt him. But Mr. Ken told the pre-teen that his lawyer was looking into that and they both had to wait until there was movement on that issue.
Everyone was happy that evening when they went to bed. That allowed the Cover’s to sleep well and have a restful sleep that night.
