From Previous Chapter:

The adults agreed and said they did such a good job they’d let them do it the next time. That brought about a lot of laughter. But the kids weren’t too sure the adults were kidding.

Everyone walked out to the front yard to see the Wrockman’s and Oxtter’s off. They all said their goodnights and the families got into their vehicles, backed out of the driveway and drove off towards their homes.

The Goldersons then went inside and the boys went off to bed. It had been a long day and everyone was tired and they all agreed to clean up in the morning.

Sunday morning Mark woke up still feeling tired. But his bladder was yelling at him to relieve the pressure in it plus his young man was standing tall inside his briefs. Mark slipped out of his bed, and then remembering what his ‘big brother’ said about him standing outside his bedroom just waiting to see him like that, the young boy slowly opened his door to see if Billy was there waiting on him.

Seeing the foster teen wasn’t outside his bedroom door, Mark quickly ran to the bathroom to relieve the pressure in his bladder. The youngster felt so much better when the excess fluid drained out of his body.

Mark, relieved of his excess fluid, walked out of the bathroom and went to his ‘big brothers’ room and knocked on the door. A sleepy “Whattayouwant?” came from the other side.

“It’s me, Mark. Can ahh … can I come in?” called back the little ‘brother’.

“Yea, I guess,” a sleepy Billy shot back.

When Mark walked into his foster brother’s bedroom, he saw the teen laying on his stomach with the pillow wrapped around his head. The youngster wasn’t sure if he should sit on the bed or not, but he figured if his ‘big brother’ was that grouchy he’d best stay off the bed.

“Billy … what … what are we going to do today?” tentatively asked Mark.

Billy mumbled something from under his pillow. The young boy didn’t understand the teenager, so he asked him to tell him again.

Billy, again, mumbled what he just said. Mark didn’t understand what his foster brother said, so he went over to Billy and pulled the pillow off of him and asked him what he said. Billy was waiting for his little ‘brother’ to do just that, and when the pillow was ripped off his head, the teen grabbed Mark and pulled him onto the bed and began tickling him.

After a few moments of being tickled, Mark started yelling, “Stop, stop or I’ll pee my pants”

“No, you won’t. You just got out of the bathroom,” chuckled Billy, as he continued to tickle his little ‘brother’. But after a few more tickles, the teen did relent and he stopped tormenting the youngster.

“Is that what you did with your other ‘brothers’?” asked Mark.

“Well … I didn’t really do that to them. They usually didn’t come into my room in the morning unless, that is, they wanted me to go out to breakfast with them,” replied Billy.

“Go out to breakfast? Did you do that often, too?” asked a surprised Mark.

“Well, on the weekends, Momma Maria, she didn’t come in to make our meals. So, Charles, he’s the one who usually wanted to go out for breakfast, he’d talk Mr. Ken into taking us out for breakfast, so he would be the one who would come into my room and tell me how much time I had to get ready,” explained Billy.

“Yea, but how often did you go out for breakfast?” persisted the teen’s little ‘brother’.

Billy grabbed Mark once again and began tickling him, because he was being so nosey. And, as the teen tickled the boy, he explained that they might go out once a weekend, but not every weekend. The older boy said it depended on what was happening around The Cove, or if Mr. Ken had been gone on a trip without them.

As the boys talked and Billy tickled Mark, Levi had come up to see if they were coming down for breakfast. He heard a little bit of their conversation, but what he liked was the fact that his foster son was having fun with his son as they interacted that morning.

“Knock, knock, knock,” announced Levi, as he came up to the bedroom.

“Oh, hi dad,” returned Mark.

“Are you two coming down for breakfast?” asked the man.

“Dad, Billy was telling me that where he used to live, they used to go out for breakfast about once a weekend. Why don’t we ever go out for breakfast?” asked the man’s son.

But before the man could answer his son, Billy qualified what he told Mark by telling his foster dad that if Mr. Ken had been gone, or there wasn’t something going on at The Cove, his ‘brother’ Charles would bug Mr. Ken to take them out. The teen said they might go out three times over a two-month period, and not once a weekend.

“Yea, but at least they went out for breakfast. That’s more than we ever do, dad,” complained Mark.

“Come on, let’s go. Your mom is waiting on you for breakfast. When we get down there, you can ask your mother that question. Now let’s go,” the man encouraged the boys.

Billy said he needed to use the bathroom first as his little ‘brother’ came into his room and he hadn’t gone there yet. Mr. Golderson told the teen to hurry up and meet them in the kitchen.

Billy waited for the two to leave his room, so he could get out of his bed. When they didn’t leave, Mark told his dad that his ‘big ‘brother’ slept in his underwear. Levi bopped his son on the back of his head and told him to mind his own business, and then pushed the boy out of the room and towards the stairs.

Billy then got out of bed, his morning friend no longer standing tall, and used the bathroom to relieve the pressure on his bladder. He then dressed in his t-shirt, nylon shorts and Crocs and headed down to the kitchen.

“But mom, we never got out for breakfast,” was what Billy heard as he entered the kitchen.

“There is no need for us to go out for breakfast, when we have all the same breakfast foods here in this house,” argued back Mark’s mom.

“But Billy … he says they went out for breakfast a lot. Why can’t we go at least once in a while?” pouted Mark.

“Whoa there, Mark … we went out to breakfast, but not as often as you think I said we did. Mr. Ken … he liked sitting at the Kitchen Nook table, reading his morning newspaper, and unless we were out on a trip, we usually had to fix our own breakfast on the weekends.

“It was when he came home from a trip that Charles … he would pester his dad to take us out. But we never just got up in the morning and went out to eat breakfast. Momma Maria … she’d make us breakfast tacos and freeze them for us.

“Then all we had to do was thaw them and then reheat them in either the microwave or convection ovens. Or, we did like you and I did yesterday and got out the cereal and put some sort of fruit in it and then ate,” jumped in the teen to try to straighten his little ‘brother’ out.

“Thank you, Billy for clarifying that. And besides, Mark, honey, you’d have to get up, shower and then get dressed and then wait on your father,” chuckled Miriam. “Here, I can make you what the same thing you can get at those overpriced restaurants.”

Billy sat down at the kitchen table and waited for his foster mom to make breakfast for them. While the boys and Levi waited, Mark asked his foster brother where they went out to eat. The teenager told Mark that they would sometimes change where they went to, but that Mr. Ken liked IHOP (International House of Pancakes) the best.

Mark persisted and asked his ‘big brother’ where else did they go out to eat. Billy told the youngster they would sometimes go to Denny’s and one time they went out to Cracker Barrel. The teen added that his ‘brothers’ asked why they would want to drive all the way over there to get the same types of food they can get closer to home.

Billy then told the Goldersons that they usually ate at the Four Corner’s Diner if they went out for breakfast. The teen explained it was closer to home and when they knew their friends would be over, they didn’t want to be so far away the guards wouldn’t let them in.

Miriam made pancakes and crispy bacon for breakfast for the family that Sunday morning. She also had orange juice for the boys, while she and her husband had coffee. They all sat down together and had a nice morning meal together.

As they sat and ate, Miriam asked Billy to tell them more about his stay at The Cove. Billy was embarrassed somewhat to tell them about all the amenities he had there as compared to what they had there. But he figured they were just curious and it was better than having them tell him what rules they wanted him to follow which, so far, they hadn’t after ten days.

The teen started at the beginning. He told them he might repeat something he already mentioned, but he was trying to visualize it in his mind as it happened. They told him they understood.

The foster teen told the family about how he found friends at the high school and got his first two friends, Kaden and Brett, involved in the Easter Egg Roll. At hearing Kaden’s name, Mark sort of giggled, knowing that he was the boy who wanted to surprise his ‘big brother’ by visiting him one day.

Billy ignored Mark, and then told the Goldersons how he met his other friends and then how they had to share the wood ramps that Mr. Ken had built for his son Robert, about eighteen months earlier. Billy continued to tell the family about the Texas Boater Safety Course he and his friends all took, so they all could drive the Personal Watercraft, or WaveRunners.

The teen told them about all the games they played in the indoor pool, the building of the Pavilion and Cove Skate Park and how they weren’t allowed to go up there without Mr. Ken, Mr. Wayne or Mr. Chris. The teen then had to explain again what those last two men did at The Cove.

Billy told them about the daily barbeques, Memorial Day Grand Opening of the Cove Skate Park, the sleepovers, the trip to Mr. Ken’s amusement parks, his personal 3-day trip with Mr. Ken and then the carnival and the fireworks. The teen explained that many days were the same with them skating, swimming and barbequing.

The teen then decided to tell the Goldersons about his run-in with the high school principal and the three students who conspired to have him sent to the alternative high school for fighting.

Billy went into detail about the fight, it being posted on YouTube, and the School Board hearing where it was learned the IT Manager and the Principal conspired to alter the video to frame him. He then lamented he wished they had some sort of video they could have used to show how they framed him by putting the illegal drugs in his room.

Throughout his description of his living at The Cove, Mark would ask questions, that would send the discussion in a different direction and then the teen would have to come back to his thoughts. One thing Billy did tell his foster family about was the Cove Skate Park and how the neighborhood kids got to use it.

The morning discussion and breakfast took almost an hour and a half and before everyone knew it the time had snuck up to almost 11 a.m. Miriam thanked Billy for telling them more about his life at The Cove. She said they were lucky to have such a wonderful teenager for their son’s foster ‘big brother’ and they hoped that they would be just as good a home as he once had.

Billy thanked the woman for what she said. He told her he’s enjoyed living there and after having five ‘brothers having just one was easy. Everyone laughed. It was then the phone rang and Levi answered it.

Mr. Wrockman called and asked if Billy and Briggs could bring his grill over to their home after they took the Oxtter’s grill home. Billy said he didn’t have anything important planned and it shouldn’t take all that long anyway.

Mark asked his ‘big brother’ if they were going over to the Skate Park. The teen said it was up to his mom and dad if they were going, and if they went, they should see if any of the other boys could go as well so, that way, they had some friends to skate with.

Levi talked to Miriam about the boys going to the Skate Park, while Billy called Briggs about taking both grills back to their respective owners. Mark was then relegated to seeing if any of the other boys could go over to the Skate Park later, so they could have a big group.

It was 11:30 when Briggs came over to the Goldersons to help Billy take both grills back to where they belonged. The boys used the dolly they used the other day. They first took the grill Briggs brought over back to his home, and then they walked back to the Goldersons to get Randy Wrockman’s.

The four people who were interested in getting Billy within their midst had come back that morning to watch and see if they could find a good time and place, they could grab the teenager. They watched Billy and another teen wheel a grill to the other teen’s home. They figured when Billy walked home alone, they’d snatch him then.

But their plans were thwarted when both teens walked back to where the foster teen was now living. The two teenagers then placed another grill on the dolly and began walking it over to another home. Mr. Wrockman thanked the two boys for doing that for him, and had them walk the grill to the backyard.

When the boys came back out front, the man, whose house the teens wheeled the grill to, had them load into his vehicle and he drove them both back to their homes. The three men in the car were pissed they missed another opportunity to abduct their prey.

After making a number of phone calls, Mark was able to find about a dozen boys who could go over to the Skate Park later that day. The question was at what time were they all to meet. Mark told them he would call them back after Billy returned from the Oxtter’s and Wrockman’s homes and they figured out a good time.

It was almost 12:30 when Billy returned from taking the grills back to where they belonged. He needed a shower, and Miriam wanted the boys to eat something before they went to the Skate Park. The boys coordinated with Levi and asked if 2 o’clock would be a good time for them to meet their friends there. It was agreed and Mark began making phone calls.

The three men, and one teenager, who were waiting for Billy Dirketson to go somewhere by himself, were foiled once again, when they saw the Goldersons’ van back out of the garage and then drive out of the sub-division. They followed at a decent distance, hoping they would find a place they could finally take control of the teen they were after.

Levi stopped the van at the entrance to the Skate Park and dropped Billy and Mark off. He told them he’d be back in about two hours or maybe a little longer. The boys met up with Briggs, Reese, Kieran, Sydney, Darren and Drew, and even Tanner and his older brother Taylor were there. None of the other boys showed just then.

With Taylor there, Billy figured there would be a big brouhaha between them. But Taylor went over to the teenager and apologized for what he said and how he acted the other day. The younger teen sounded sincere to Billy and the two shook hands. With that done, the group all headed out onto the Park and began to skate.

The three men and their junior partner, Kaden, watched from the parking lot as the small group of boys and one girl began skating. They knew that was not going to be the place where they could easily take Billy without the other skaters getting involved. They retreated to their vehicle and knew they had to wait until the teen was again back home.

The skaters who were there, last weekend, saw Billy, so they went over to him and talked to him when he wasn’t skating. They told him they saw a few more kids wearing the Cove Skate Park gear and learned that the man who owned the estate on the lake gave them away. They wanted to know if Billy knew the man.

Billy inwardly smiled and told them that he knew the man and he was there when he opened his brand-new Cove Skate Park. He also told them that the man had also opened the Cove Skate Park on the 4th of July for the neighborhood kids to try out. Billy told them it was a lot better than what they had here.

The kids who were talking to Billy then asked him to show them how to do some of the stuff he did the last time he was there. As Billy did that, the foster teen’s friends were amazed that Billy was pretty good on his skateboard and that some of the younger kids wanted him to show them how to do stuff.

The two hours at the Skate Park went pretty fast, if you asked Billy and Mark. They felt as if they had hardly gotten there when Levi came to get them. So, the man told the boy to skate for another half hour, but then they had to go home as they were going out to dinner later. Hearing that put a big smile on Mark’s face.

At 4;30, Levi gathered his two and they headed over to the van to go home. Briggs, Drew, Taylor and Reese yelled to Billy that they’d meet him at the park at ten tomorrow and that they wanted to talk about what they saw at the Skate Park. Billy waved and said he’d be there.

When the boys arrived home, Miriam sent the boys up to their rooms and then to take showers. Mark didn’t want to, but his mom said they were going out for dinner and she wanted them smelling soap clean and not like sweaty boys. The boys trudged up the stairs where Mark took over the bathroom first. Billy just relaxed on his bed while he waited for the bathroom to get free.

As Billy took his shower, he thought back over the last ten days, or so, since he arrived at the Goldersons. He thought back to what caused him to be there, in the first place. He then considered how Levi and Miriam tried to make his transition to their home as easy as possible.

What he thought was awesome on their part was that they weren’t overbearing, demanding or overly strict, but they were concerned, attentive, caring and understanding. He liked that they tried very hard to integrate him into their family, and their son, Mark, liked him as his ‘big brother’.

The Goldersons weren’t anything like Mr. Ken, nor was their home close to what he had at The Cove. Since he was there, he noticed big differences between a man who wasn’t concerned about costs and now how regular families had to watch their budget.

From the very beginning, they included him in just about everything they did. The first day at his new foster home, instead of sitting down and going over the rules the new foster parents had for their foster son, Mr. Golderson took him to Mark’s Little League baseball game.

The biggest surprise for him was on his second day there when they told him they were taking him to the shooting range that Saturday and then did so. Billy couldn’t believe how much fun it was, but also how seriously his foster dad took the handing of a gun and why they had them in the home.

Whereas, Mr. Ken didn’t plan to ever show him what guns he had at The Cove, nor begin teaching him how to handle them. Here were his new foster parents, within two days of his arrival, deciding to instruct him on the handguns they kept in the house, which would be used to protect them against anyone who wished them harm. What a divergence between two households, he thought.

Billy was so deep in thought, that he didn’t hear Mark banging on the bathroom door to make him hurry up. It wasn’t until the youngster stuck his head inside the room that Billy came out of his thought process.

“Billy, you sure are taking a long time. You better hurry up before mom sends dad up here,” yelled Mark, before taking his head out of the room and closing the bathroom door.

Billy smiled at the words, ‘mom’ and ‘dad’. He again wondered if he’d ever be able to call them ‘mom’ and ‘dad’. Then there was another knock on the door and the teenager yelled he was finished and would be out soon. He quickly rinsed off, dried and wrapped the towel around his body as he walked out of the bathroom and to his room.

As he closed the bedroom door, he heard Mark giggling. He yelled back through the door, “I’ll get you for that! You just wait and see!”

When the two boys arrived downstairs, Levi told them their mom was still getting ready to go out. The man told them to ‘stand by’ and relax and they would be off soon.

The three ‘men’ talked about where they would go for dinner. Mark wanted to go to a pizza place, where he heard they had games in the back after you ate all the pizza you wanted. Billy said he’d been there and that was not a place you took your date.

The date reference didn’t make sense to the youngster, but his dad told his son that if his mom wanted to go out to a nice restaurant, a pizza place wouldn’t be anything his mom would want to go to. Mark sort of understood.

Mr. Golderson asked his foster son where he’d like to go. Billy told the man that when he lived with his mom and step-dad they rarely went out. And then when he lived with his first foster families, they rarely went out, too. The teen added that when he lived with Mr. Ken he didn’t care where they went, because it was like a treat for him. The teen then listed a few of the restaurants he’d gone to.

It was close to 6 p.m. when the Goldersons finally left the house as they had planned to go out for dinner. They didn’t go anywhere fancy, but the restaurant was nice and the food was pretty good, at least according to Billy’s standards.

Just like the Mexican restaurant they went to earlier, this restaurant was a small mom and pop place that the locals went to, where the food was good, and the prices were reasonable. Again, Billy was reminded that regular families had to watch their budget, while still enjoying fine things in their lives.

They all had steaks that night. While they ate, Mark told his mom about the pizza place he wanted to go to. The boy told his mother that Billy had been there and had his ‘big brother’ tell them what it was all about, the types of food and what you could do afterwards.

Billy told them about the pizza buffet that also had baked potatoes, different spaghetti noodles and sauces plus a big salad bar. The teen then explained about the games in the back. When the discussion was over, Mark asked if that could be a place they could go to before the summer is over. Miriam told her son that they would.

The four people in the car had watched the Goldersons’ home from a distance then followed the van to the Skate Park waiting for the most opportune time to take Billy, but that never panned out, so they followed the van back to the house.

They figured the house didn’t have anyone but the Goldersons and Billy left inside. One of the men wanted to go over to the house right then and take care of business. But cooler heads prevailed and told him it was way too early, too many people were still out and about and they didn’t want to be seen.

They agreed to watch and see if Billy went out on his own, as he had a few times since they’d been watching him. They all had hoped the teenager would do that later in the evening and they could grab him then and no one would be the wiser.

When they saw the Goldersons back their vehicle out of the garage, and then head off down the street, they decided to follow to see where they were going. They followed at a safe distance so as not to be noticed. They followed them all the way to the restaurant where the family was going out for dinner. They decided to watch and wait.

After about an hour, the man who wanted to invade the Goldersons’ home, suggested they send Kaden into the restaurant to watch what they did, and have him call them when they were about to leave, Kaden told them as soon as he entered the building, Billy would immediately recognize him and wonder why he was there.

The men were at an impasse as to what they were going to do. After they learned where Billy lived, they began making plans to grab the teenager. But after they went to the address, and watched the teen’s movements, they saw he was always with that boy named, Mark, or he was with a bunch of other boys playing ball, or he was going to and from the other kid’s homes.

The longer they watched Billy, the more aggravated they got that they couldn’t find a good opportunity to get a hold of the teenager, who they all blamed for the raid and shootout with the Sheriff’s Deputies last year, and ‘Smokey’ being ultimately shot and then dying at the hospital.

When ‘Smokey’s’ drug organization came tumbling down, none of those three men were ever contacted by authorities to talk to them about what they knew about ‘Smokey’, his gang, and where he stashed all of his drugs.

And even though ‘Smokey’s’ organization had been dismantled by the police, threads of it remained and stayed hidden. These three men all knew one another from their contacts in ‘Smokey’s’ gang, and once the heat of the police searching for other members of the drug gang backed off, they decided to start the organization back up. This time with them as the leaders.

The men had worked slowly and deliberately to reconstitute the drug trade into the local community. They all knew some of the places where ‘Smokey’ stashed his supplies. Once the ‘heat’ was off, they went to those places and checked to see if all of them were found out. Most, but not all of the drug supply that was stashed had been found and what the men did find, it was what they used by them to regain a foothold in the area.

One of the men also knew one of ‘Smokey’s suppliers. After some delicate negotiations, he was able to establish a regular supply of drugs for him and his friends. They started back up with the high school kids, some of whom were their initial customers, that they knew were eager to get a hold of the drugs they used to use.

One of the men also knew Kaden, because he was one of those boys. But when they brought the soon to be freshman teen into their confidence, they told him if he was going to be a drug supplier at the high school, he could not do any type of drugs. They explained, that was what got ‘Smokey’ and his gang caught, because they were sloppy with their activities after they used the drugs they dealt in.

Kaden jumped at the opportunity to make money on the side. He wasn’t that big of a user to begin with, marijuana being the only illegal drug he used, so stopping altogether wasn’t too difficult for him.

All the teen cared about was that he would now have money to buy the things he knew other boys had, but he couldn’t afford. The lure of fast money and also now being a somebody all the ‘cool’ kids would search out, was another plus in his mind.

The men told their new junior partner who the high school kids were that they had once supplied, but would now be distributed to, by him. Kaden had to start his side business slowly by gaining the trust of the high school seniors. He dropped the men’s names to them and told the students what he knew of their drug habit and he soon started gaining a clientele.

Once the older teenagers from the high school began trusting Kaden, they told their friends where they could get quality drugs and personal delivery. Slowly, but assuredly, Kaden soon became a well-known asset to the small-time drug users at the high school.

In Kaden’s lust to build up his customers, he decided to get to know the new kid at the high school, a boy named Billy. There were some contentious times as the two became friends, especially when Billy asked Kaden about his drug use. But since Kaden had stopped using illegal drugs, he felt comfortable in answering the way he did.

In the beginning, Kaden didn’t know who Billy Dirketson really was. As he made friends with him, he was able to get information out of his new friend that he fed to his suppliers. When they learned Kaden was friends with the step-son of a guy called ‘Greaser’, they told him to become even better friends with the Cover, and to get as much information out of him as he could.

Eventually, the men told their junior partner that they were looking for the person who caused the demise of ‘Smokey’ and his gang, and they now figured it was this Billy character, as ‘Greaser’, being one of ‘Smokey’s’ gang, was also killed the night of the shootout with the Sheriff’s Deputies.

Kaden worked hard to become even better friends with Billy and, when he was one of the first ones invited over to The Cove, he figured he had it made.

Kaden eventually became a constant at The Cove, even after all the verbal run-ins he had with his new friend, Billy. The first time was when Kaden constantly kept asking about Billy’s fighting skills after he took care of a bully at the high school, and wanted to know who taught him.

Then there was the time Kaden went directly over to the ramps and jumped right onto them ahead of Billy’s ‘brothers’ friends. It caused a big row between Billy and Robert and eventually Mr. Ken got involved. Billy had to then tell Kaden what the Rules were for the skateboard ramps.

When it came to playing the games in the indoor pool, Kaden and Billy had some disagreements on what they should play and even if they should play with the younger kids.

After that, Kaden made fun of his friend by saying he was probably the only foster kid who had two foster ‘dads’, meaning Mr. Ken and Mr. Wayne. Billy walked away from what he took as being a slap in his and Mr. Ken’s face

And Kaden was always putting down something or other at The Cove, so Billy had to tell Kaden to “Give it a break!”. And after that, there was when the teens were going to take the Texas Boating Safety Course, and Kaden began to argue that if Mr. Chris was doing the research then why Billy couldn’t share it with them.

Then, during a tour of The Cove, when Billy told Kaden where Mr. Ken’s private retreat was, Kaden decided to go back there anyway. Billy reached out and grabbed his arm and pulled him back. Kaden looked at Billy and then at his arm. The others with them thought there was going to be a fight right then and there.

And over their friendship, Billy and Kaden had many other disagreements that had to deal with The Cove. Kaden even wondered why Billy remained his friend after all the trouble he created at The Cove and between the Covers.

Kaden never knew how close he was to being banned by Mr. Ken himself, because of the difficulties he had given Billy. But Billy defended his friend by saying he hadn’t done anything really wrong, other than being a pain at times.

The men who were watching the Goldersons began getting on one another’s nerves. One man wanted to go in and get the teen, now. Another one argued they needed the cover of night to keep them from being seen and ultimately known. The third one suggested they follow them home and then have Kaden go up to the house and ask to visit with Billy, as he told the young boy the other night.

That submission got the other two men thinking, and before long the car drove off. The men agreed if they were going to get Billy from the home, they needed to silence any phone and cable hookups at the house, so that the people couldn’t call for help. So, that’s what they decided they’d do before the family returned home.

The Goldersons had a good meal that evening and they all got to know one another even better. They even ate dessert at the restaurant instead of going on to DQ for an ice cream. They took their time going home and Levi drove right into the garage before any of them got out of the van.

The boys used the bathroom immediately upon arriving home. They had both drunk a number of sodas during the meal, so they needed to get rid of all that extra fluid that accumulated in their bladders. Even the adults used the bathroom attached to their master suite to do the same thing.

The Goldersons and Billy all met in the Family Room and it was there they talked about Mark starting to train for soccer Monday morning, and that Billy said he’d give it a try, but if he doesn’t take to it, he would sit it out. Mark added that about twelve boys were supposed to meet at the park at ten, so that way, they all could help one another get into shape.

It was while they were talking that the front doorbell rang. As it was getting late, Miriam told Levi to go to the front door and see who it was. That was when Mark decided to tell Billy and his mom that one of Billy’s friends called him earlier in the week and said he wanted to come over and visit with him and that maybe it was him.

Billy got irate that Mark had answered his phone and didn’t tell him about it. Billy began demanding Mark tell him who it was that called, and who that could be at the front door.

Mark told his ‘big brother’ that it was a teen named Kaden. Upon hearing the name, the teen told Mark he better go up to the ‘Safe Room’ and stay there, and that he was not to come out for any reason until he or his parents came to get him.

Mark wanted to know why he couldn’t meet his friend. Billy yelled that Kaden was a drug dealer and might be there to cause trouble for him. Miriam immediately got concerned and yelled for her son to do what his ‘big brother’ told him.

Miriam was now scared and she demanded Billy tell her why he needed to do that.

Billy gave her the Cliff Notes about Kaden being arrested with three men and that he was being charged as the drug supplier at the high school he attended. The teen added that now that he thought about it, he’d bet Kaden was the one responsible for the drugs being placed in his room, but he had no idea how he could have done that.

As Mark reached the top of the stairs, he heard a lot of commotion coming from downstairs near the front door.
